I'd like to experiment in removing the cat completely... without being under my car, lol so does anyone have a cheap/free exhaust manifold I could have?

Also, with the amount of room under the hood being lacking, how hard is it to change out a manifold on a Mark? I've never done it before. It appears quite difficult.

How cheap Topher? Jamie, I'll let you know if I cant get one cheaper, if not then I'll bite the bullet and get with ya.

I've got one with a bad cat that I'll punch for you, $30+sh? Don't mean to step on yer toes topher but I've got loans to repay

Stang, to replace the manifold, get an engine brace, I made one with some square tube and a couple of short chains and 4 bolts with nuts (see my original progress thread) works very well. Remove alt and install brace, divorce rag joint, remove bottom bolt of struts, take the abs wire loose from the body (2 clips each side) remove bottom bolts of calipers, swing caliper up/off pads and slide off bracket, remove 4 E- bolts each side of subframe (with Jack under it), remove the engine mount to subframe bolts and lower.

As long as the car isn't up too high you shouldn't have a problem leaving the steering hoses connected. Even tho I recommend removing for safety, it's not really needed.

Hmm... this sounds like something that will be done when it comes time to replace my entire front suspension and do my oil pan... oh joy, lol

Oh, and to both Topher and Sapper, how good are the studs on the exhaust flange on each of your manifolds? Mine only have a few threads remaining.. dont wanna put something similar back on lol
