I am sure it was an STS because i was behind him on the highway for a good 10 minutes and took the same path. We both had radar detectors but i was letting him be my gopher and take the lead. Like i said though, i was really into those cars and i can tell you for sure it was a later model STS, the rear decklid was changed in the final years of the "seville", also the headlights are alittle different. Anyway he had a system in it and some chrome rims, they werent huge or anything, probably only 19's but looked alright....that would have been a difference in weight, otherwise it was a really nice STS. When the light turned green i let him make the first move, after he saw and heard me punch it in 1st he floored it also. As i stated before, i think a big advantage i had was the ability to manually shift gears which makes a difference over him just punching the pedal to the floor. I pulled away from him all the way thru 4th even after missing the 3-4 shift. Once in 4th i was a good car length ahead, enough to see his headlights in my rearview and then it was a stalemate, i couldnt pull away anymore and he wasnt catching up. It was all in good fun. Im not posting to bash cadillac but to give what i would consider a bigger car some props. And by the look on his face i think he gained some respect for the Lincoln name.
Back when i was in high school a friend of mine's dad had the two door caddy with the northstar and that thing was awesome to take out and abuse. Back then the big dogs were a 5.0. stang, T/A or Z28, or corvette. That Northstar would hang with all but the LT1 vette.
