Anybody know how to remove the Brake Reservoir?

I really want to paint this little beauty and it looks to me like it has two cotter pins on opposite sides. Just wondering what the procedure might be to remove it. Thanks!!!!!

I painted my power steering reservoir black and left the window visible. It is SO much better. The only glaring thing left is the brake gizmo. :shifty:

They're "roll pins" and yes, that's all that secures the reservoir to the master cylinder. Drive them out, and you'll be able to pull the reservoir off.

I've debated painting mine too... just keep in mind that brake fluid is paints mortal enemy.. any fluid on the reservoir ever and the paint will be ruined

I wouldn't paint it either. You could always go the polished aluminum cover route, though to be honest, I usually leave mine off.

Thanks! I've made a few improvements since then. Here's a more recent picture.

I actually plan to tear it apart yet again to hide wires/hoses, change finishes on a few parts, etc., once I can find the time. The day job, my recent engagement, making parts on the side, continual improvement of the house, and my latest project are all conspiring to push that off to the distant future. I've been pretty busy building this '65 C10 for my parents as of late.

Other than shock towers and fuse box, that bay looks like a Mark VIII! I really like the speckle gray, especially on the hood. First class! What did you do with the MAF?

It's peeking out of the air filter box. You can see the SCT label there (it's a SCT BA-2800 MAF).

The billet cover looks pretty cool but if I were you i would paint it to match the rest of your color scheme. Here's a pic of mine, and the paint has held up flawlessly so far (about a year)... :shifty:
