Hey guys, a couple years ago Brandon made Chicken a new evap tray out of a sheet of aluminum (I think)...

See it here...

Ever since then, having complete access to a machine/metal-working shop, I've been wanting to make these. Now that I've learned how to weld, this idea is that much closer to being possible. I don't know how fast I could make a bunch of them, seeing as I'd have to make them in my spare time after work (or maybe during lunch), but I was wondering what kind of interest there would be in these, and for what price? I would probably end up doing what Brandon was talking about doing if he ever had them made. Just offer them up for sale as they're ready to sell. I'd have to take one of mine off and take it to work to copy, unless someone here happens to have some VERY detailed dimensions/measurements. If I made them, they would probably be more like a basket, with sides welded on and holes on the bottom for draining.

If anyone has any comments/suggestions about this, feel free to post them up. I'll probably at least be doing one for myself, just because I can, but I always like to offer things up to the guys on the forums.

mine was the prototype, just steel, painted silver and isnt welded just a square box with a couple holes to mount the canisters, but i dont drive the car in winter so i aint worried about it anymore ( i was with the old tray)

I wouldn't make them much more elaborate than that, but I would at least like to put sides on them....

there are sides, they are just bent up, no load on them so not really a need to weld it the canisters attach to the bottom and the front panel

if i recall brandon bent your pan up on a pan brake chicken, there really is no need to weld the sides if you make them on a pan brake. i could make them at work too, i would make em out of aluminum though and have them powder coated. maybe some day when i am bored i will make a fancy one and have it powdercoated just for chitz and grinz.

$100 to the guy that makes the coolest one! And I get to keep it!! I'm serious!!

lol. It's not gonna be right away, but hopefully in a couple weeks. I've got too much crap going on right now.

Oh I know its ok, and that's how he did it, no need to weld it
