Anti-theft

On my 93 mark there is a module behind the glove box. Both connectors for the module was unplugged. When I plugged it up, the anti-theft light come on the dash. Why would someone unplug it? Would it have anything to do with the keyless entry. Someone lost the remote before I bought the car. Is there anywhere to buy a new remote? How do you program it?

Because it's cheaper and easier to just disconnect it than diagnose and repair

You can buy new remotes from the dealer or on eBay.

If I get another keyless remote, will it work even if the anti-theft module is unplugged or does it have anything to do with it?

Yup, the keyless remote will work ok.
