So I ordered two of the exact same part number and this is what they sent me

They both have the same part number, both from the same company (Raybestos), bought at the same time. Why are they different? Having two matching pieces when that's what I expected would have really made my day.

the one on the left is what the stock oem ford replacements look like

the one on the right is what most of the aftermarket units look like

you obviously got old stock or a part thats been reboxed, they will both work but from what i've heard and red your better off with the oem replacements then anything else.

i'd take it back and tell them i want two of the same part.

I thought it was the other way around? The straight links are the OEM style. That boot also looks like Motorcraft.

Forgot to mention the one on the left has zerk fittings while the one on the right is a permanently sealed boot.

+1

He's got it backwards. I'd much rather have the part on the right of the OP's picture.

yes what they said i mixed the two up

the straight one are just like the oem ones

I just changed mine this summer. The straight one on the right is stock from the factory! I know because my car has not been raped, abused, or modded in any way! (all original). The one on the left is what I just put on. It bolted right up and is quiet and smooth! Go with the left one, they are a better design!

Thanks I had to run downstairs and see what Raybestos put in the boxes I got. Both straight arms. All Moog went on the 95. The 98 is getting all Raybestos. I read about their ball joints and thought I'd give them a try.
