So, the Bridgestone potenza's on the back wheels are damn worn. Like, through the tread worn. Need a new set for the back.

I'm going down in size to 245/35's, and put them on the front. 245/40's are going to be in back.

I don't run the car in the winter, so summer performance is all I need.

Also not looking to break the bank here. Tires that are staying on the car are Hankook ventus 245/40.

So, what do you guys recommend? Under 200/tire please :D

I got a quote from a local tire place for 180 each installed for Falken 452's or Fusion ZR1's. They are going to do some more checking and call me back.

im using a set of 4 Dunlop Signature Series.....i like em

I just got all new eagle gt's and I like them a lot.

Well, I am making a decision tomorrow morning. The last 2 options they gave me are:

Nexen N3000 - 160 each mounted
Kumho Ecsta sport - 170 each mounted

If there are any other suggestions, I'd love to hear them.

Last month of car and driver ran a comparo on max preformance summer budget tires. #1 was Dunlop Star spec. #2 was Hankook Ventus V12 EVO. I would go with the Hankooks. They're cheaper, and have better wet/dry grip. And to top things off, tire rack has a special offer running on them.

Hopefully they have the right size for you:

Heres the car and driver article: http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/comparisons/09q2/tire_test_nine_affordable_summer_tires_take_on_the_michelin_ps2-comparison_tests

BTW, the Kuhmo Ecsta XS placed 3rd

Kuhmo

I really like the Kuhmo's. I actually have a 19" version on my car now of the N3000 and had the Kuhmo's before. I think I like the Kuhmo Ecsta sport's better.

Here's the prices from the article, they got the tires from tirerack

#1 Dunlop Star Spec $137 each
#2 Hankook Ventus V12 EVO $106 each
#3 Kumho Ecsta XS $120 each
#4 Bridgestone Potenza RE760 $132 each
#5 BFGoodrich G-Force KDW $126 each

the ZR1s I've seen for about 59-71 bucks a wheel and the Falken's I've seen at Discount tire for 71-81 per tire. Best of luck :-D

For 'cheap tires' I have good experience with:

Fuzion ZRi - currently on the Lotus
Sumitomo HTR Z II (now III) - currently on the LS
Kumho Ecsta XS

since summer is nearly ending and gonna have to get winter tires soon (if i wanna) i'm just hitting some primewell ps830/850 at 43 dollars a wheel

lol...I forgot about those :P

well if anything I'm 3 blocks away from both my jobs so I can just jog or bike to work if push comes to shove.

Just dunno how much of a difference I'd feel with a 100+ dollar tire vs a economic 55- dollar tire....though this is the first time I've EVER needed new tires :P

Just unsure of brands as well or quality. Though the VRis i saw at tire-rack and Falken Sincera but I'm unsure if Falken Sincera would be a better choice than the Fuzion VRis

right now the VRis for my 16x7s are 71per tire and the Sinceras are 84 though if both are performance tires then that's quite the dead but if they are standard "budget" tires I might as well hit the primewell :P

Yessir. Excellent traction. Too much camber on the lowered stance, ate through the inward side of the tread.

I'm gonna run a little lower tire presure to get more contact with the road on the next set.

Just need the cheap ones to get me through the rest of summer, then replace all 4 next spring.

I'm leaning towards the Fuzion ZRi's. 180 per tire, mounted and balanced.

I just called in the request for pricing on the Sumitomo HTR ZIII and the Hankook Ventus V12 evo K110. We'll see how they price out.

+1 on the Sumitomo HTRZ II's. I am just now on the second set. First set last me 40000 miles and tirerack has them for a good price. Quiet and nice looking tire.

compared to the $71 per tire of ZRi's at TireRack?

I am running Continental Extreme Contact on my rims. They are awesome all the way around and they run in the same price range as the Toyo Proxes and you can use them all year if you have too.

Nittos, best tires Ive ever bought, I run 555's up front and nt05's in the back, it takes some effort to powerslide or rip a donut

Hankook is an excellent tire for the money, I knew Mini cooper guys that did slalom and they said they out performed the big money tires all day long.

+1 on the hankooks. I have a set on my ls and really like them. Only drawback being the brandname
