Wish you were close to love to have a spare trans to build up for my 97
Although my focus this month has been on my 79Z28.

hahah well yea i figured that i was going to have to rebuild the trans. :(

anyone have a trans thats close enough to ship at a decent price.

So it doesn't shift past 2nd but 1st is there also...possible shift solenoid issue...best way is to road test with a scanner and see if PCM is commanding the shifts...also check for any trOuble codes...

But chances are your ****ed

Could be a sensor or solenoid but without a good scanner and knowledge of how to read the Trans data...especially if a trouble code is not present...most will replace, if Trans was broken when it went to shift for 3rd(D) it would just rev up and not go anywhere if its not even trying to shift I'd be spending more time on the electrical side

Dam that thing needs a DEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP cleaning. With alot of effort I bet it could turn out somewhat decent..

I might give up my base drivers seat skins if your at all interested.

Dude I don't know how some of you guys can drive beater mark viiis..that **** looks terrible..I would be too inclined to fix it and make it look better, but in the long run its not worth it, better to start with a cleaner one..id rather drive a pos truck or something that you could haul with that's useful.

so what if its a little beaten. you would be amazed with what a little work can do.

its a clean virginia car. no rust on the bottom of the car or rust on the panels. this is not a beater. the panels are straight and clean. just a handful of door dings.

all i need is a clean body, rebuild with all brand new parts and paint and a interior and it will look clean as factory.

BTW this is my 3rd Mk Viii. i currently also have 2 95 Mk Viii's. so this wont be driven around till its done.

Aw man, that's barely broken in. That car's got at least another 150k left in it! Mine just passed 207k not too long ago and still purring like a kitten (knock on wood:)).

shes got a ton of life left, i just hit 205K on one of the 95's i have :D

It amazes me how somebody could've even driven it like that. The dirt is caked on, like it's never been wiped down in it's entire life. That or they just never rolled up the windows.

All I can conclude from this is that the previous owner-s- were fucking slobs.

I take it you have not been to the D.C. area lately?

Yeah that car definitely has seen better days..but for $400 why not. Those seats need some MAJOR scrubbing. I thought mine were dirty..
