Do you need to take the brake caliper and rotors off when replacing upper and lower control arms?

I would pull them off, I'm sure you could do it without, but it would take some creativity. It's only two bolt to pop the calipers off.

What he said :)

Really, it will be much easier if you remove them. I usually have some wire that I use to hang the caliper up in the wheel well. That way they are out of the way and not hanging on the brake line.

But since you have them out, good time to check out the slide pins on those calipers.

To remove the calipers turn the wheel IN on the side you want to remove. I think 13 mm is whats used. The lower/back bolt will come out fine. The upper will need a 6 inch extension to make things easier.

guess I might as well replace the brakes then too. Any recomandations?

I've done them on both of my cars, and didn't need to remove the brakes on either one of them. Maybe it would have made it a little easier, but I don't think it was very hard with the brakes still attached. I think the calipers would just get in the way if they're removed and wired up somewhere.

Do what you want, but you don't NEED to remove them.
