An 06 question..someone help?

well what i have found tells me that it would be a very close race. Car and Driver have a 2005 hemi c running a 14.4, but im sure that was at ideal conditions. Real world who knows. It's suprisingly hard to find info on the hemi c, ie "videos" of real life quater mile times. So unless you run them we wont know, but i would love to hear what would happen. If anyone has some experience with this match up.

Do larger pipes on the entire system make a difference in sound? I just want it to have a deep grumble, don't really care much about the most performance - especially if that just means some long shiny pipes.

So what would be my best route? The X pipe with magnaflows and new tips?

I dont know for sure how much the a .25'' increase would change the sound, but my guess is it would make it a little depper.I say flowmasters for sound or go stright pipes, but I'm going to go with magnaflows so performance. Maybe the slp shotgun resonators missing_linc had on would be a good alternative to flows since they wont restrict the exhaust as much as flows and have that deep muscle sound too.

I have been watchen youtubes and I don't like the flowmasters, theyre too raspy and annoying.

I like the magnaflows, I just don't know what I need to get in order to achieve it.

They sound different when you're insie the car then when you hear it go by. I also have resonators and took away most of the raspy, without them it was too loud so 2 days later I put them back on.

I dont get it?

To get the loudest sound with magnasflows, delete the resonators,it's good to run an x pipe but you dont have to.

I mean like what do I buy?

Can I literally go to an exhaust shop and be like... Yea I want magnaflow mufflers, delete the stock resonators, and toss in an X pipe and tips?

I don't have any means of being able to weld it myself, so this may be the only mod I have to have a shop do for me..

Yeah, thats basically what you do. I would buy them yourself though, you dont know what kind of magnaflow you they will put on.

I am trying to look for a video of magnaflow. I was hesitant to buy magnaflows because of how they sounded and how quiet they were, also most were on gen1 and I wanted to hear one in a gen2. Then someone posted a video 2 months ago with magnaflows on a gen2, it was a red one, and it sounded deep and nice. It sounded like my flows did with resonators on, but he deleted the resonators on his. After hearing that I was sold and asked the guy what exact muffler he got, he gave me the part number and I bought those same ones. I didn't want to get any random magnaflow and have it sound different. They hsve different shapes and sizes, i dont know how much they vary in sound but I liked his. I'll keep trying to look for it to show you

My buddy said he thinks it sounds like a newer 05-08 Stock Mustang GT. I have magnaflow mufflers, resonator delete. I am adding 4" tips soon, their sitting in my trunk, waiting to get installed. I don't know if an X pipe would increase the sound or not, I have the stock H still.

Wait don't you have that setup if you liked it so much? I thought you had the magnaflows.

Also is it common to bring your own parts to an exhaust shop to put them on?

I do it every time. You will try to get the best deal on your mufflers and other components, they are going to try to use what they have, and if they have to order it, they're not going to shop around much, if at all. In the end it should save you a bit, unless they can get them uber cheap. My exaust (2 magnaflow mufflers) + install and removal of resonators was $275. The install was $75. Who knows, I probably overpaid for the magnaflows but I was happy with the price, compared to 650+ for a kit.

For some reason that crap looks confusing..

Mufflers $200 (can't remember where I ordered them from)

Install and Resonator Delete $75

I guess it also depends on the local shops in your area. Mine was not the best looking place around, but I have had the exaust on all my vehicles done there. He does decent work, and has good rates. I don't think he spoke a lick of english but he seemed to get what I wanted done. He also redid the exaust on my 1976 Motorhome, not that it was a challenge lol.

I have the flowmaster mufflers on right now. I have the magnaflow,x-pipe, and 4'' black tips in a box waiting to go on. I have to save up for the install but I keep buying things. I just bought eibachs and the angel eyes so the install money went there :D . Yeah it's normal to take your own sutff to a shop. The problem with me is not the welding part but the bendin of the pipes to make them fit and also when they expand the tip of the pipe to fit into the other.

Do you have the part # of the magnaflows you ordered? I'm looking to do the same thing and save some cash by ordering the mufflers myself. I just dont know what size oval is best

Depending on what you want, lowder or quieter. The bigger the muffler the more is quiets the exhaust. Thats why going from a 4'' resonator and putting on a straight 2.25'' pipe makes the exhaust louder.

I got mine from summit racing. It's the same size muffler as 12225 it's just a 2.5'' in/out and the in/outlets are both in the center instead of having the inlet to the side. I didn't realize it until now but oh well, it should still install the same.It was the one owlman got so I did too, just with 2.5'' in/out

Yup thats the one you need...2.25 unless you want to get new piping and bump up to 2.5
