Came home from atlanta on friday and tried to start the mark. Battery was basically dead. Which was kind of odd, since I just drove it the week before. Found the alternator not really charging at idle. I took it apart, and found the rear bearing a little worse for wear. But I couldn't find any thing wrong with it. So today I took the alternator to Scott Automotive and Marine Electric in Largo. This place actually worked on the alt. previously, as there was a sticker on top. Seems I had a bad diode. So, for $100 I received a whole new diode and field assembly, new regulator and new rear bearing. YOu can just about buy a regulator for that amount. Now I just need to get new pos and negative cables.
