Alternative to HID headlights?

There are other options like Hoens and Silverstars. The down side to some of those type of bulbs are heat. They create a lot of heat to give off the HID color. I've never had good luck with Silverstars either. I was replacing them every 4 months with my Grand Prix or the LS.

The hoen highs are the same watt rating but the others are a higher wattage.

i used to believe in the silverstar hype.

until i got tired of replacing one of the bulbs in my fogs every couple of months, switched to Phillips and haven't had a problem in a couple of years.

i'm sorry, when a bulb cost twice as much, you expect it to last al least as long if not longer than OEM, not a tenth of the time.

Also please be more clear... Im guessing this is a question???

I was merely stating that... yes, there will be glare using a HID kit in a halogen housing, but (IMO) no more than anything else on the road that is anything other than a normal halogen bulb in a halogen housing...I am not bothered by any lights on the road, no matter what the setup. but I understand some are more sensitive to it...

Don't know what happened I guess I some how deleted some of my post. I was trying to say, your posts could be taken as somewhat contradictory. You cleared it up though thanks.

Don't be stupid. Unless your car came with HID headlights you can't use HID bulbs. If you need to look cool and have blue lights you can get Halogen with blue tint. BTW, if you do try it I hope you get gigged by the local Gardai

While some people just want a look and I personally don't always think they make sense, like the pink colored headlights, there are plenty of people who are looking for improved visability at night. Drive and HID equiped car(factory equiped or aftermarket kid) and then switch and a car with halogen bu;bs and you would prob be surprised by the difference.
