last summer i converted to coil overs (monroe sensatrac kit) they said it would be stock ride height but it easily lowered the car 2in. now i am going through ball joints and tie rod end boots like CRAZY. like every couple thousand miles. their all moog parts too!!! the car drives perfect so id say that the front end is just too low for this setup. is there an alternative/upgraded lower control arm that i can convert to and fix this problem? i know a lot of you guys have your cars slammed too and i really REALLY hope this isnt the "suck it up because it looks cool" part of having a low mark. Advice greatly appreciated!!

i would still get it align'd even if they said it was "ride height". And as you said it looked alot lower afterwards...Replace whatever is worn now and take it in for one..Problem solved

I really have no clue what you are saying here..?

OP, suck it up cause it looks cool. Its part of owning a lowered Mark. :p
Dont know what to tell ya. Sapperfire seems to go through ball joints like crazy and hes lowered about 2". My car seems to have an apetite for ball joint and tie rod boots too. Poly tie rod boots seems to have corrected one problem. Wish I could get polly boots for the ball joints. :(

You can for the uppers.

If your Mark is lowered...get TRW brand parts (lifetime warranty) and learn how to change the parts yourself, and get an alignment ...mine is the 2inch drop conversion by AAS, you can see how mine sits in the sig :-)..I just got the car last year and have replaced everything in the front once already

These cars don't like to be run lowered. My old 95 and the 94 showed accelerated joint wear after lowering. That being said, I chalked it up to the joints having worn in for 100,000 miles in one location then changing the geometry (lowered) and driving in that location.

After replacing everything in the 94, I've had NO problems with it.

But keep in mind that an alignment is critical with a lowering kit. When you lower it, it will drag the camber positive, and slightly knock the toe out.

I am no expert so I am prolly wrong but wouldnt lowering add negative camber?

You could very possibly be right Bill. I am self taught in alignments and call the numbers what I always have.

Let me phrase it this way.

It'll kick the top of the tires to the centerline of the car and pull the front of the tires in as well.

The specific negatives and positives have eluded me.

:D

Lower portion of tire out is negative. When I drive my car in the lower position for too long it wears the inner edge of the tires pretty fast. Well not the rears. The rear setup keeps the wheels much more level through their movement.
