On my 97 i've been having an ongoing problem for the last week or so. I get the check air ride message and it times out. I've noticed for the last day or two its jacked up and seems its not wanting to vent.

The car has 66,000 miles on it and a spider valve and ray switch, both front height sensors are securely intact.

I've read the compressor vent solenoid can also get stuck, but if im not mistaken the spider valve replaces the factory solenoid and thats only a few months old.

Now, i could purge the system with the ray switch (if at this point it would even work) but it takes forever to pump back up and i've been stranded twice and ruined a 350 dollar muffler job because the line on the spider sometimes blows when i dump the system. I've even upgraded the fitting on my dryer to a full metal collar (spider has plastic collar) and it STILL blows sometimes and comes out.

I could also disconnect the battery and see what that does but unfortunately because of the ray switch it will vent the car completely. Lol..story of my life.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Once i get it back to normal (hopefully by the weekend) i am going to be pulling the spider off and sensor lowering it, at this point the spider will probably go up for sale as i have some ideas of mine own including larger line diameter and a second compressor.

Thanks guys.

hmmmmmmmmmmm, thats odd. when does the light come on? since the system vents down with the rays switch that shows the vent is working properly. how long does it take to lift back up? theres a psi gauge on the spider v3 (or do you have a v2 or less?) what psi is it running at?

with one compressor it was 90 sec from a full drop on a couple year old compressor, ive heard up to 3 key cycles to lift

The warning message comes on sometimes 1 minute after starting it, sometimes several minutes after starting it or sometimes not at all. I have a V3 but you cant pump it up through the tire inflator *i've tried it and doesnt work* and it has plenty of pressure as all the bags hold air.

its just acting up. Is there an air suspension diagnostic i could find somewhere? 90 seconds and 3 key cycles to lift sounds about right.

Ive noticed it feels like a load of bricks when this happen, like its up to high, and sometimes it DOES vent, but not always. I actually got it to vent to about regular driving stance the other day and turned the switch off.

A diagnostic of some sort will help..or some ideas of what it could be, thanks again.

Thanks driller, it rained all weekend ill see what i can come up with.
