I purchased a 94 mark VIII. I got one minor problem. The rear bags are fully inflated and the front bags are fully deflated. I can't get the compressor to turn on.

I've turned off the control module. and cycled the ignition and could not get the compressor to turn on and fill the bags.

I then disconnected the battery and turned off the control module and hooked the battery back up and cycled the ignition....still no luck.

The owner told me he just had shocks put on the back and the system worked a few weeks ago BEFORE THE CAR GOT HIT IN BACK PASSNEGER SIDE. He had the car towed home and the air suspension did not work.

given the condition of the car...at 88,000 miles. I'm guessing something with the system got "confused" either when the car got hit or the shocks got changed. I have 2 other Marks and never had an issue with the air system other than the bags leaking.

Any ideas? thanks

check relays and fuses and of course the obvious make sure the switch on the trunk is turned on

make sure you have power at the compressor after that

thanks for the replies...it was a simple fix

I was finally able to get the car out of the rain and get under it to only find the airline and power feed had both been removed from the back drivers bags.

I hooked it back up and the air system works fine. Now for the back fender repair.

At 88,000 miles and $750 I couldn't resist the bargain even if the rear quarter is trashed.

thanks again for the replies.

Jamie.....that trunk lock cover is now discontinued last price was over 100.00 so you might want to salvage that!!....sorry to hijack the thread....we now return you to your regular scheduled thread!!
