Air intake

You are right Tommy, But sometimes I feel we go the extreme route in correcting someones post. Thats all.
.

well usually it starts out "not extreme", then you get the "the manufacturer told me this BS, and you dont know wtf your talking about"...

Then things get a little more "ramped up".. in the discussion dept.

People will "latch onto" something they have "read, or were told".. and then they post it on the internet like it's some form of "gospel truth".

Then, someone comes along later and reads this bad information...and since the OP seemed so "sure of himself" then these "internet fable tales" get passed along, and before long they are "set in stone" even though they are bad information.

Agree'd the previous abuse of the blower is probably of more a consequence to this issue.
buying a used blower is alot like picking a used condom out of the trash can.
You just dont know "whatchagonnaget".

I know, Htrdlincn98 was asking how the measured IAT's could be so high.

See this is where it wasn't a pissing contest of any kind, yet you got the impression I was "correcting" you or something?

I was not correcting you, or insinuating that you didn't know.

I was "Clarifying" to htrdlincoln that the info you posted was correct.

Yesterday on my ride home from work my IATs were between 118-125 degree's on my SHORT 8 mile ride from the office.

on my N/A mark 8 sitting in traffic I get 130 degree IAT temps.

the 130 is refering to incoming air temp not compressed air temp. So yes if I can get my iat's to a stock incoming iat's i'll be fine. which once again has nothing to do with kb

welcome to the wonderful world of the INTERNET.

Bad info is bad info... and posting bad info is the same whether your car is NA or your paid 5K to have a blower installed...it's pretty simple Mike, actually.

He is "parroting" bad information.

Like the whole "I dont want to hydrolock" my engine because some guy in a corvette did....

you say its bad info, but really your just some guy on the internet with an opinion as well-not the company that designed it or rebuilds them.

I assume you don't take every person's advice on this forum either.

If you look at the post, i originally posted that i didn't want an open air filter in the fender which is why I posted this damn thing in the first place. It had nothing to do with the corvette guy although I'm glad he posted cause that was one of my reasons for not putting the open filter in the fender in the first place.

Writing checks, does not make an expert...sorry
.

I don't know why you seem to think that I'm a check rider or can't do things myself. You keep going on, but you have no idea who i am what i have or haven't done myself or even asked any questions about my setup. I suppose everyone that doesn't do 100% of everything is a check writer? I didn't put my s/c on myself because I don't own a dyno(there isn't even one in my town) My car was already going to be dyno'd cause i had a tranny built. I also had my gears set up by someone cause i don't have a case splitter or depth gauge. Everything else done has been by me or with the help of some friends. oh my wheels were bought as well-I didn't machine those or anything as Im sure that you would have. I'm tired of you talking trash when you haven't even asked enough questions to make an informed decision.

man, what I said is the truth.. accept it for what it is.

I still stand by my original statement, "WRITING CHECKS does not make YOU an expert".

Who cares if there is a dyno in your town, dyno's aren't the "best way" to tune a car.

Over the road tuning with WB02 is "heads and shoulders" above strapping your car to a dyno..believe that or not I dont care.

I have yet to begin to talk trash to you, but if you keep posting BS tech I can DAMNED SURE START, since you've already crucified me for that action.

You have your mind made up, it's obvious.

So.. just because I dont "jump into a chorus of lambchops sing along" you think I'm talking trash.

you have provided NOTHING that indicates you have the SLIGHTEST CLUE as to what your talking about, only "parroting what you have been told by others".

I dont have to ask questions about your set up...yiour not doing ANYTHING different enough to have to worry about "questioning your set up".
your just using a substandard blower compared to the rest of the world... that is all.. nothing more, nothing less.

You have chosen a "not optimum" combination, and that also is fine.
DO WHAT YOU WANT.. I couldn't care less.

You keep latching onto something that KB told you.. that is fine.
believe what you want to believe... it AINT NO SKIN OFF MY BACK.

Keep writing them checks, maybe someday you'll be an expert check RIDER as you put it.

NOW.. I've talked some smack..since you've already accused me of it.. I dont want to dissapoint you.

Sorry I didn't fall to your knees and BOW before you, since your so much superoir than I since you have a SC on your car..... big whoop!!!!

As I said, you can believe and DO what you want, it matters not.
But if you think I'm gonna be silent while you SPEW BS tech for future readers to fall into.. welp.. THAT AINT GONNA HAPPEN>

if you dont like the words I say.. Do yourself and ME a favor and just click on the "ignore user" and you wont have to worry about "what mean ole tom said about your crappy hodgepodged set up"...

M'kay?

IGNORE FUNCTION.. USE IT.

I would stock box it because by the time you get through finding a cooler place to put your cone filter, it's not going to be seen anyway. Use dryer vent hose lol and route it inside the cabin on the pass side under the dash. That way you would be able to see the cone filter and have a cooler air intake. :)

Just fukcing with y'all!

Wouldn`t it help to turn the ac all the way down? lol
