whats up guys, i just put a rebuilt compressor from american air in my mark and the car still isnt pumping up. my front end is currently slammed and i cant get my jack out from under the car. is there anything i can check for? i already checked the maxi fuse under the hood for the suspension.

yep, all the fuses are good. tomorrow im going to check if the unit is getting voltage. sucks, i did the blend door yesterday, and the pump today and now i can't even get my car out of the garage

Put another jack under it in a different place and get it up enough to get the other jack out.

did you swap the abs relay and the air susp relay? or did it not work and you just chunked a compressor at it?

well my compressor had been slowly dying and one day it finally stopped working so i swapped it out the rebuilt compressor. so yeah i guess i just chunked a compressor at it.

try swapping the relays, the air susp one is mounted on the front of the air compressor and the abs is on the driverside basically in the same spot
its a black box with metal fins and 4 wires goin to it

Make sure your air lines are pushed in all the way.
Mine did the same thing, I re-seated the air lines and it fixed it.

Since you're checking fuses, that sounds like you don't think the compressor is kicking on.
If you're absolutely confident that you plugged everything in firmly, Chicken offered the most likely problem. You're ABS Relay failed, a common problem.

im pretty sure i have everything plugged in but ill have to double check. i don't think the compressor is coming on at all, my old one was really loud so if this one is coming on, its completely silent. i am getting a check air ride message after what seems like more then 90 seconds but i havent timed it.
as far as the lines being plugged in all the way, wouldnt the unit still come on and act normal otherwise?
what causes this relay to just stop working? can you guys reccomend a relay for me?

yeah i know, i wasnt looking for an 'aftermarket' relay lol, just wanted a reputable website

just swap it with the abs relay for now to test it out, the relay might be too weak to turn the compressor on but it will be ok for the abs system

so there are 2 of the exact same relays on this tray that holds the compressor, i only noticed one. ill have some more work for this weekend, i swear every time i think im done something new comes up.

Please keep up, it's your own thread...

side by side, they will fit just gotta make a bracket ;)

man i had a hell of a time just getting the one in there, i was going through the wheel well not the bumper though. how did you run your tubing? just 2 in each or they all spliced?

and yes, i know you guys are search nazis. but in all honesty the LvC search sucks, you have to wade through basically any thread that has the word ABS or relay in it. thanks for the pics though, thats easier to get to then i thought

the search function will teach you more than what you are looking for before you learn what you needed to in the first place...can't go wrong with that

Well first off did you remove your air silencer (the snorkle that feeds the air into the airbox, kinda wraps around the compressor) if not just throw that thing away.

Second I had the car on a lift and had the wheel liner and the lower bumper cover off so that makes a world of differance

The air lines are set up like this. The 4x4 navi/expedtion use a 2 port drier vs the marks 4 port, so I harvested 2, 2 port driers out of my compreeor box :) and then ran the 4 lines to the spider valve (kinda equalizes the psi) and from there it ties into the stock system. And also so I don't overload the air suspension relay all it does is trigger an old school starter solenoid to supply power to the twins

Click on my name and search for threads started by me, the thread title is something like "wtf is chicken up to now" id do it myself but its a pain from my phone

ok i have tried switching relays and still no dice. i tried hooking up the old compressor with the new relay and vice versa and its all the same. is there anything else i can check for here?

one thing i did notice is that the fuse under the hood is only seeing around 11 volts. is this normal?

the compressor itself is getting voltage but doesnt want to turn on. i have tried 3 relays altogether so i dont think thats the issue.
