Im looking for a wiring harness in order to replace the factory navigation head unit with a modern double din. The car is a 06 ls with steering wheel controls, a factory amp and factory navigation in the trunk. I've gotten three different harnesses now and none of them fit the factory amp plug. The head unit comes on but has no sound because the amp is not getting power. The back of the head unit has one main plug three smaller plugs (amp, nav, steering wheel) and an antenna plug. Im not interested in keeping the steering wheel or navigation. Any help would be greatly appreciated I would rather not run an aftermarket amp for all the mids and highs.

Welcome to LVC, nice to meet you to !

Sorry I've been using this site for a long time now and just became a member. First post a question yeah go figure right. Well I've searched this site and the interwebs and have had no luck, someone on here has for sure installed an aftermarket unit in this year/model car!

there is no "off the shelf" harness for cars with the factory nav system, you will have to do a bit of custom wiring to make it happen.

Anyone have a pin out for the factory head unit harness I have no issue making my own harness.

I do, but I'll have to look it up later today. There is also a post on this forum with some information. Unfortunately, I think that it is mostly showing the connectors at the DVD unit in the trunk (it uses the same type connectors as the head unit).

This applies to the normal headunits. It mostly does not apply to the THX navigation option. For one thing, the speakers are all driven from amplifiers in the trunk. There are other differences as well.
