Ok so my car is gonna get a beating. I've had my abs light on for ever, since I did the hub swap last summer anyway. Its been fine except for that light. Lately I've had issues with the andvance track light coming on very shortly after starting to drive. Then if I get on her a bit, the brake light comes on. Ok I can handle that until I'm free enough to fix it. Heres the new issue. The advance track turns on and off like I have a loose wire. With it coming on and off, the car is bucking like a bronco. I am officially sick of it and trying to figure out wtf is wrong. I would say the hubs and ABS sensors need checking, but could the mod be out or going out too?

I fixed ABS + AdvanceTrac lights by cleaning the wheel speed sensors. All four wheels, and I resealed one of them that had the rubber grommet worn down. I used some duct tape and kinda made a new rubber seal for it. I have discovered that if these things get water in them they will throw the "Check Advancetrac" error. You gotta make sure they are all clean and have no gaps around them for water to enter. What I did was clean each sensor and go back and check to see if the error is still there, once you do a wheel and it goes off, boom you found your problem wheel and you can fix that one or just buy a new one.

I was about to order all 4 new wheel speed sensors, but decided to take a look @ them first and found alot of grime and even a spider nest on one of the sensors.

I took them off and cleaned everything, the little probe dealys that stick into the holes, as well as the unit as a whole. I had like... Build up of road grime on them, and after i pulled them off, I stuck a screwdriver tip with a towel wrapped on the end and twisted it around in the holes to clean out the debris. I shined light down in the hole before cleaning and I did not realize it was a shiny surface until AFTER I cleaned it, it was that dirty.

Trust me it's worth a shot to see if this fixes it before dropping 50 bucks for each sensor.

Yea it is, one thing different about my symptoms vs. yours is my car did not react to the errors, no bucking or anything. It was intermittent, but it was internmittent bewteen drives, it was either on for a drive, or off.

I noticed it was ALWAYS on after it rained/while raining. This is what played into the moisture thing.

Didn't you have the center console kind of apart doing the SST thing? Maybe it is a loose wire? Just a thought

yeah... maybe, but Im pretty good at not cutting wires lol no but the abs light has been on for a while

Sorry to hear it sully. I hope maybe it is just something simple like your wheel sensors, but on a brighter note, if it turns out to be the module Ill sell you mine for pretty cheap:D

Never know when the pins get pulled out enough to cause an intermittent problem. I've had that happen more than a few times on different cars. The latest being the rear overhead lights. Sh*t happens. :)

so I cleaned out each of the sensor thingys.... no dice the problem is there and the same as it was before. I need more ideas and thoughts

Damn.. that sucks dude. Maybe it's time for code scanner. And pray it's not the module

what if I unplug the module and take her for a rip? Would that be a way of determining the mod being good or bad?

I believe that the ABS module provides the rest of the car with the car's speed indication, so I would assume you would lose the odometer and speedometer. You would probably still get an ABS warning on the dash too.

so the lights I assumed would still be there. Didnt think about the speedo, but I can use the GPS speedo for the time being. this would just be for testing purposes.
