Oh man, that wheel mark is awesome. It is rare that I actually laugh out loud to a forum post, but that did it. :D

maybe you can doctor that wheel mark up to look like the virgin mary and get $10000 for it on ebay.......

um, i love you guys, but can any of you actually help me and tell me what how the LSE / 06 bumper and side skirts are different? Is it just that they are body color?

Check out this link for a 2006 front bumper at LS Koncepts. If you click on the "click to enlarge" link you can see the differences in the non-LSE bumper and the 2006. The main difference is the round fog lights and a larger lower grille.

I am sure if you search the forum, you could find some members who have the 2006 bumper and have posted pics. Good luck!

I know about the bumper. I want to understand the difference in the side skirts and the rear bumper. If I just get the rear bumper entirely painted body color will it at least resemble the LSE / 06 rear?

Final Decision

I have reached the final decision.
Getting done this week:
2006 bumper and grille.

Getting done next week:
Custom tune
Overhaul of rear deck speakers. Ripping them out, and
putting in 2 small subs with an amp. Haven't decided on details yet. Will post details in relevant thread.
LED rear lights and front turn signal bulbs.

Eventually:
2006 side skirts and rear valence.
Halos.
Interior LED conversion.

I think that is a ploy to lure me there throw me in the river and steel my LS or parts off of it anyway :P

Make sure you update the work you do with the 06' bumper cover and such.

I wouldn't minda lil fender bender that affected nothing but the plastic just so I could do that swap. :D

Duration of this thread amazes me!

Wrong subject line, wrong thread SORRY!!

I didn't take the time to read every word, but I have to say:
After your Lincoln is in a serious collision, it will NEVER be the same!

Toast it or it will nickle and dime you to death with all sorts of little problems.
Many electrical connections are loosened or "comprimised" in a collision and they often are not re-assembled during the repair process if there is a connection established.
Also: Replace ALL your ignition coil packs with brand new ones or you could start having misfire issues that are often so subtle the sensors miss it.
Fix it and blow it out as quickly as you can.
Cars are just shells, some more beautiful than others.
Lincolns especially.

I miss that Signature Series, but the Executive L Series has me hooked.:D

I agree, but my airbags did NOT deploy. That means I was going slow at the time of impact. My shop (family friends) told me that I should definitely keep it. The damage is minimal.

Plans sound great, but...

I think you will have other problems pop up.
If you do, be sure to reply here.
Love the LED conversion idea, I've been thinking about that and some HID Headlights as well.:D

A minivan driver ran a red light (admitted to fault on police report) and I smashed into his passenger side front wheel. Hood, bumper, and fenders have to be replaced with some work in the engine bay. Airbags did not go off. I know that an accident takes about 30 days to appear on carfax reports and the value of the car drops, so I am considering fixing it and selling it and buying a different car, or another LS, or just fixing it. It is a 2005 norsea blue ultimate.

I'm sorry to hear that and hope to fix your LS or buy a 2006 LS V8 LSE :) .

updates:

Hood, 2006 bumper cover, fog light brackets, fog lights, grille, and new left front fender are in the shop. Monday and tuesday for repairs, and she's being sprayed on wednesday hopefully.

Update

Updates...she is being prepped for paint. My 06 bumper is on already.
There is a chrome accent in the black part of the chrome bumper. Is that a trim piece or paint?

Also...logos on trunk lid..on or off?
