I put a new hub on this morning drove it around the block and I could hear the ABS pump pulsating like crazy, get on the brakes and could feel it in the pedal then it stopped. It did this like three times. Then the I get a message saying to check traction control, and the abs light is on.

Might be time for a new pump. I wouldn't think swapping relays from the air ride to the ABS just to even check would be worth it. My "guess" is that yours is on it's way to death.

Did you change the front or the rear hubs?

Is the sensor wire corroded any? Does the light come on at start up or do you have to get up to a certain speed before it will come on? I completely missed that you had swapped a hub lol. I got up 5 hours ago to get my 9 year old ready for school. Not reading very well lol.

It's the front hub. I think I got it to about 20-30 mph range when it started doing it. After I pulled out of the drive way it did the little ABS test.

Did the new hub have the ABS ring on it? If so, you need to try cleaning the sensor, and checking to make sure the wires aren't pinched or messed up.

I cleaned the ABS sensor and now its working better but every once and a while the pump will cone on and when breaking it the ABS will engage randomly

so could I pull the fuse or something so i don't have to hear the pump going all the time until i find a new sensor. does it matter which side i get

Check to make sure the ABS sensor is square over the trigger ring, sometimes with aftermarket hubs they are pressed on too far. 98s seem especially sensitive to this.

So i put the old hub back on to see waht it would do and i noticed that on the old hub the exciter ring appeared to have a shine when i cleaned it off. Compare it to the new one the exciter ring almost looks it could be coated very similar to galvanize. Would a coating like that make it harder for the sensor to read the ring.
