Ok, so it seems to be pretty common for a town car to go 200k miles no problem, and some go to 3 or 4 hundred k. With that said I was wondering what you guys think the possibility of a LS holding up like that would be. Are these cars built to hold up like a Town Car?

Any thoughts are appreciated.

I know that many people would simply say "if you take care of it" ect.....but i'm asking more from a point of view if the motor and other parts will hold out that long as to decide whether to rock it past the 100k marker or sell it and get something smaller..........I mean I dont see the point of putting money into it if its gonna junk out on me.....i'm at 93k now in my V6

Well, I got 159.200 on mine right now. And it's in the dealer for the check engine light that came on yesterday. The dealer said that the upper intake manifold gasket is the one to blame.

Anyways, little problems do show up once in a while, if you take care of those and show overall care for the car I think it can easily go to 200k and more.

I got an 01 V6.

There is one member on here that recently posted a pic of his odometer reading 612K... :shifty:

if there is a reason that the average ls dosnt last as long, it is probaly due to the fact that the ls's are more agressivly driven than my grandparents drive there towncar. just a guess

thats true....does LS stand for Luxury sedan or luxury sport? regardless im trating mine like a town car these days

guys, LS is a good car but its no where near as reliable as the Town Car. Do you know how badly Town cars are abused in New York city and they still run like champ with over 200K. (so there goes 1loudls theory)

im about to roll over 102K and mine doesn't have any problems at all, but i have the V8 which is a much bigger motor to move the same size car. I believe that would make a difference, because there's less stress on the engine.

140k here. You better believe I'm praying because I just started modding the damned thing

Yeah thats the worst.....my first car was a 96 conti with 155k and being my first car i needed a system....waste of a grand atleast....i mean i kept the subs and amp and head but the installation $ out the window

128K miles. I change oil every 5-6K miles. I have a CAI, magnaflow catback, and XCAL2. I drive the car very hard and floor it 10+ times a day. It keeps going and going and going. :)

Uses absolutely no oil.

If the engine decides to throw a rod on me I know I can replace it myself for about $600. But I still expect this one to last for quite a while.

I'm glad someone share the same view as me. I thought a couple months back that I was starting to burn oil, but I eventually checked the filter, and some idiot cough me cough didn't have it on tight...

Lots of life left

Mine is on 01 V6. I don't worry about the engine. Mine is 98K and growing. Smooth as silk. The tranny was replaced this year at $3500 cost. Never, ever, raced or drove the car hard, nothing....and the tranny quits? Strange, but the cost of a new car over fixing this one,,,,,its better to keep loving and driving the LS. Gonna miss this car if I ever sell it.
