A question for those running larger wheels on their Mark...

I think I would like to get FR500's for my car when it is "officially" done... however, how many of you are running a large wheel with a deep dish in the back, and still have a ray switch?

Do your wheels/tires hit the fenders?

I want to get some cool wheels but I am afraid to ruin body panels and paint when I flip the switch for car shows...

Any input/tips are appreciated!!! :)
 
It's easy enough to roll, or cut the lips out. I opted to cut mine & paint the seam really, really good. You will have to trim the bumper & the mount back there too. That screw's gotta go.
 
I dont mind a little trimming... but does your bumper flap around when you drive because of the lack of screws and mounting?

I'm sure, worst case, I could come up with a way to mount that bumper...

Nope, doesn't move at all, I had the same concerns but all said & done it's pretty tight.
 
Running 20s and not an issue or need to to anything to the fenders. Comes down to tire size more than wheel size.
 
Sweet. What I planned to do, was run the 17x10.5 bullitts out back and run the 17x9's out front... with some meaty tires, but I still want to get the car to tuck just as hard when I flip the switch...

It's probably asking for too much...
 
10.5's are probably not gonna work, especially if they are 99-04 Mustang offset (if you're hub-swapping). 05+ Mustang wheels are usually a good offset and usually come in 10" for the rear.
 
And those will work for sure? and not hit the sway bar?

the '05-up wheels dont come in Anthracite

I really wanted the deep dish anthracites... :(
 
Mine are 30mm offset in the front (18x9) and 40mm offset in the rear (18x10). They are 05+ offset wheels. I need to roll my rear fenders and I had to tie back my e-brake cable to the sway bar. I have 285/40/18's in the rear.
 
I have a Ray switch on the car that I used to use. I need to roll the rear fenders before I can use it again.
 
Does your sway bar hit your wheels at all? I saw a pic of a guy putting nice wheels on his mark and the rears hit the sway bar... big time
 
I could also run a set of Welds for an SN95 mustang after I hubswap it right?

using a 4" front runner with like 94-ish GT brakes with PBR calipers?
 
Well,not sure how much of a help this will be but....
I'm not sure of any of the offset/inset (?) I have,but I have 245/45/18 all the way around and I also have the Ray switch installed,I swapped out the factory rear shocks for some new ones for a 89 T-Bird and I hit the inside of the fender well in the rear.
I'll be fixing this soon...ish.

I hope my car sits as low as yours with the FR500's... I love the way your car sits with big wheels

The only thing I dont like about the way it sits right now is the rear is much lower than the front. BUT I have an idea for something. I've read about drilling the mounting bracket on the bottom of the strut to get a little more drop out of it,so I plan on checking everything out on doing this one day next week at the shop I work at.
