Rich might get a laugh out of this.:)

I needed some fuel line for my red 94 Mark. I stopped by on the way home from work to see what they had. They had the high pressure 5/16 made by Goodyear. The guy told me it was $3.99 a foot.

I've seen it priced higher, so I bought 10 feet of it.

He rang it up and told me the total was $13.67.
Being the honest person that I am, I asked him, "What was that price?".

He repeated the price and said "I don't make 'em".

I was all out of honesty so I gave him the money.:)

lol i just ran into a dummy at autozone too, but i wasnt honest like you bill, i had about 8 items on the counter and one was a 14 dollar gallon of laquer thinner, i actually didnt catch it myself till i got in the car and looked at the receipt, it didnt seem like i paid enough, well i didnt, but by that time the car was running and i was leaving!! thats ok, i spend alot of money there anyway!!

I've done well out of Autozone (and other places) too! Remember those 3 extra quarts of Mercon V i brought to do the tranny Jamie? Haha... They were free.

Wouldn't mind a job at Autozone... Hmm... Five finger discounts... :D
and fast stickers... :shifty:

I use to have the hook up @ autozone. There were a couple of guys who worked the overnight shift, The guy offered me half off anything that I wanted. This went on for at least 4 months! Many people were coming in to see these guys.

This was many years ago though.

Well it just goes to show... they still hire Wal-Mart Rejects at Autozone...

But you won't catch me in an Autozone except to buy car cleaning items or oil.

The guys down the road from an area Autozone love it when I come in and do some autozone trash talking...

Yeah, you are right. For the most part autozone really sucks! I picked up my brake booster there & the darn thing is leaking again. I'll have to chang it out again! That's what I get for trying to save $180 bucks! The extra $$$ would have been worth it to avoid the extra labor.

We I hate to say I didn't warn you!!!:D But I did :D

we deal a lot with carquest at work (acura dealership) and the service and parts are ALWAYS top notch. i really like o'reilly's too. the ONLY reason i EVER go to autozone/advance/pep boys is because they are the closest or only place still open.

ignorance is bliss!!
about 8 years ago my dad went to best buy to get a sony 5 disc cd changer that was on sale. all they had left was the "floor model" my dad said ill take it, they gave a 10% discount or something on top of the sale price. being the floor model, the sales person had to hand write the ticket. my dad carrys it to the counter and the girl working there put the decimal point in the wrong place, instead of $399.99 with a 10% discount, they charged him $3.99 with 10% off, he paid 2 something bux and walked out the door. now id imagine if i worked there and rang up a cd changer for just under 3 bux i would question it, but they didnt :D

Looooool. Now, that's a great deal!

When me and wife bought some table lamps from Walmart (:shifty:) we picked some shades and fixed them on - they looked like complete units. Saved a lot of money.

ive had that happened to me, not on expensive stuff though :( lolol.......just get the price they give u, say nothing and slowly start walking toward the door...........lol :D

Well, if you could see the markups parts stores charge especially on hardparts, you wouldn't feel too bad. As far as service and idiot employees, a lot has to do with the fact that red shirts (non managerial staff) start at $8/hr, and a lot has to do with whether or not the store manager is also an idiot.

That was easy. You got high pressure line, but he rang you up with the sku for the standard line. Well done.

It was funny when I had people try to use standard line in high pressure applications - they would balk at the price and argue with me when I told them they needed it, and buy the regular stuff. Never failed, they were always back later that day complaining about the hose. Happened 3-4 times that I can remember.
