A/C makes my car run hot

Whenever I drive with the a/c off it's right at 1/2 way up the gauge, but if I drive it with the a/c on at any speeds below 65 or so it runs steady at almost 3/4 up the gauge, same thing at idle. It won't get hotter than that, it stays there. I think this is odd, and my 93 never did this, so, I guess that supports my theory. I searched and didn't find a similar issue in a stock engined car. Any ideas? The fan seems to run as it should.

Sounds like the 2nd speed on your fan is GONE! You may need a new fan. Gman has one but wait to get some more feedback before you proceed!

I thought after 45mph the fan shuts down? I guess it's possible, maybe I need to test it somehow. I was hoping for more replies after a whole day, guess folks are busy.
