Yesterday i got my a/c recharged, and now my a/c compressor is not even coming on. Before the a/c got recharged the compressor would circulate on and off but now its off and both a/c lines are hot. Does anyone have an idea of what went wrong here? The person who charged it said that the a/c on this car was barely used and thats why the freon got out somehow. But i think that theres a leak somewhere, any a/c techs out there?

Have you checked the plugin on the bottom side and all fuses? If the plug on the bottom has gotten oily, it might not be making a good connection. Very bottom, you'll see it. If dirty, spray the plug out with electronics cleaner.

Get some gages put on it and see what the pressures are. That would be the first step. You may have an overnight leak now. If the a/c had a leak and the PO didn't get it fixed and it went a while, then you come along and charge it. Now the brittle o rings and gaskets leak a bit more. Could also be fuses and or plugs.

In a nutshell, if it needed freon....it has a leak. Assuming the guy that charged it new what he was doing, the leak has probably opened up and is pouring now instead of just leaking.

Look around under the hood for an a/c line popped off or maybe a wet spot. (sounds dirty huh?) The reason I said wet spot, is because oil circulates with the freon so, where the freon leaks....the oil leaks.
