Im looking into putting an in-dash radio in my Mark, was looking into buying a Pioneer 5.8inch screen double din...will i have to cut into the radio space to make it fit?

yes but barely, just a little trimming on the dash itself, not the stereo surround, take the wood bezel off and trim the stereo hole in the dash.its only like an 1/8 inch off the top of the hole.

im doin the samething, would you have to trim the top area of the dash where the radio goes? and what is the best radio kit that wil fit the best?

I used the trim kit and harness he listed. The kit does require the 2 lower tabs to be taken off. Nothing a razor blade can't take care of. There will be a little gap on the bottom of the stereo, I used the thicker 'soft side' of black velcro to fill in the gap. I also had to trim the actual opening all the way to were the leather(?) for the dash starts above the unit, cut it little by little till it's snug using a razorblade or dremel.. Relocate the Module that sits above the unit and place it were you'd like it, I chose the back.

Here are pic's of my install:

does that dash kit you used only work for that certain radio, or model of the car...because i have a Pioneer AVIC-X920BT that i just got and i need a dash kit for it?

What you have to do is take a dremel, and trim the top part of the plastic up to the bottom of where the leather ends.

I use Pioneer double din navs in my Marks, and i use a cage to mount them.

If it's a double din it'll work. You can fit it in there w/o any dash kit but it looks like poo/unfinished. Though the kit isn't perfect(1/8" on bottom), It's the best option we have.

This is what you need.

AMAZON

I remember asking you questions when I was trying to find a good kit, looked at this and it just doesn't look right. Have you used one?

The problem I see with that kit is the upper plastic peice, it looks too thick. The one on mine is 1 or 2 mm and it just barely makes it.

The beauty of that kit is that it provides you with three different kits depending on the vehicle. I am using it in my son's 97, he has a F700BT, and I am using it in my CE. I have a Z110BT. For our cars you use the square piece. All I did was trim up enough so the piece fits in. It has tabs that you push down on all sides to hold it in place. Then the radio slides in.
