Yesterday my pass.door actuator took a dump. When I tried to open the doors, all I heard was a "buzzing" noise from the pass. door, with the remote or interior switch. The key lock switch works fine. The car has only 79000 miles on it, someone told me the actuators usually never go bad, not my luck.
Do 1st gen. and 2nd gen. actuators interchange?? Anyone have one for sale???
Thanks for any input.

now it seems the power lock works, I tried it this morning and to my surprise, it worked...Later in the day...its now 97 degrees, the power lock is lazy.
Is it possible the temp. can play a roll or is this a sign the actuator is on its way out?

Most likely, yes. It sounds like yours is about to say bye. Might want to work on getting another on hand. The heat could be having some effect but I don't recall it to be a common problem. May have been a half way dud straight from the factory.

Both of mine went bad years ago. I got drivers side out of a Mercury Marquis and just swapped the top. Pass side is still pending.
