I checked the search function but could not find anything on this subject. It appears as though the rear brakes are locked up. This happened when my friend stepped on the brakes for a traffic light. When the light turned, the brakes dragged to the point that the rotors glowed orange (all four wheels). Now the car will not move at all. A month before this happened, he replaced the master cylinder. He has since replaced the ABS solenoids on the front of the ABS module. The ABS light is on along with the traction control light and the message center states "check traction control". Is there a traction control module? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

If all 4 wheels glow, why do you say it's just the rear?

Fix the ABS light first, maybe you have a bad wheel speed sensor or something. My guess is the traction control is related to that and it is activating and running the brakes cause them to stay on.

If that fails, then look at the master cylinder again.

We were thinking the rear wheels because of the traction control warning. All of the warnings went off at the same time. He also told me that he disconnected the brake lines to the master cylinder and there was no pressure. He lives in Flemington. If you know about these cars (and I assume you do from your pic) he would pay you to check it out.

A few history questions?:D

Was the replaced ABS module (module with solenoid coils) the same year as yours?

Why were the module and master cylinder replaced to begin with?

The master cylinder was replaced because the brake pedal would start to go to the floor while waiting for a traffic light. You would have to pump it to maintain a pedal. The module was from a '97 and was changed because I had one and thought it would solve the problem.

Sorry, don't really have time to go work on the car. Thanks for the offer though.

A: you either have the wrong master cylinder, or the ABS module
B: you've got a possible contaminated system.

You put a salvage solenoid in it, was it flushed with Denatured Alcohol before the install? Was it homed after the install?

My suggestion is this...
1st take a sample from the master cylinder with a !!!clean!!! syringe, put it in a !!!clean!!! glass jar and add some water, shake and let sit...it should ALL blend, if there's is a filmy top...you're fu(ked

and what I mean by "top" is....keep in mind that oil floats on water...i want you to check for a possible contamination, so there shouldn't be a "line" variance in the jar

you can get a large syringe at any Feed store that carries horse and farm supplies, used for oral medication, they cost about $4

what did the rubber inside the old master cylinder cap look like? Was it bloated any? Did the new Master come with a resevoir?

jeremy you are asking questions to Rich, who doesnt own the car with the problem!! read what he wrote again, he lives in florida and the guy with the problem and who owns the car is in jersey, he was just trying to get advice to tell the dip :q:q:q:q who owns the car lol!
