96 gen1s the slowest?

First- I don't think that's true. I've never heard that said before. The Gen2s are supposed to be slowest. And even then, we're talking tenths of a second.
 
I've owned a 1993 base w/one piece shaft supposd to be the most "aggressive" of marks.....Bullsh*t!!

My 1996 LSC would slaughter that car.
 
Seriously they got slower every year... of course at this point with how old these cars are there will be many different car/miles/wear/maintenance.... but it is pretty well proven that the 93's were the fastest... and in the programming there are hotter ECM's.

All I can say is get a tune!!
 
It's actually more ideal. You get the best of both worlds - a GenI car that is easier to tune.
 
Older= more problems, tierods, suspension, alternators, PS pumps, etc..

buy the newest car you can afford honestly if a 93 is .3 seconds faster than a 98 LSC who gives a crap, in real world "Street driving" that is hardly any difference. And honestly 95% of the cars on here are daily drivers and not track whores like some 87-93LX foxbody Mustang.

I prefer the 97-98 LSC myself. The older ones to ME look dated especailly the grill and front end headlights etc... not that I hate it, I just prefer the newer grill and headlamps.
 
nah, I'd say the slowest is a 97-98 base mark.....but not by much.....i've driven all years and they're all close.......believe it or not the FASTEST one I ever drove was a 94, it was maroon with tan interior...had 115k on it....supposed to be stock....it felt faster than my car with all its mods.....that thing laid some major rubber....i should of bought it...only $700, but it was ratty...really ratty

Yup, every Lincoln board says the same thing - 93's and 94's fastest, subsequent years slower and slower. Didn't Mespock's old car run 14.6 bone stock when he sold it?
 
I like how people are talking about how fast they "feel" lol....

Ya Rich's car ran like a 14.6... Tiff should chime in with what her old 93 would run... I don't remember if she ever hit 14.5 without mods.
 
My 96 100% stock on some :q:q:q:qty touring tires ran a 14.93 at 95.79mph... pretty fast if you ask me for all stock.
 
My 94 that I sold to my buddy is way quicker, faster, and gets better MPG than my 98. Both are base models. 4 car lengths in the 1/4 and 10mph top end....doesn't matter if it is from a stand still, or from any speed on....it kicks my azz and it burns my azz that it does. We are classmates from kindergarten thru high school in a town of 1000 ....we have raced everything either of us has owned, and this car has me ready to pit maneuver his azz.....now once we get to the curves I kill him, but he usually makes me take the shoulder, ditch or field to do it....(only slight exaggeration)
 
Ummm no way your 94 is 10mph faster in the 1/4 mile than the 98. Unless you are spraying nitrous.
