ok dont worry i know ill be ridiculed but i did search but found a bunch of stuff on gen IIs but i wanna know if the intake will clear the stock hood? i bought an intake for a really good deal (couldnt pass it up i can always modify it for my cobra) i got the upper and lower imrc throttle body intake tube and imrc motors for under 300. i have future plans for this motor so im not worried about low end torque right now (eventually it will get punched out to 5.0) i really want this intake on the car because i want the look eventually ill get the cobra heads but hey i have to take this one step at a time.

thanks for any and all of your help

Gilby

It will not fit under the gen 1 hood you will need the lms hood, welcome to the site and next time try the search first. There are lots of cranky members on this site who love to harass the noobs who dont do the search thing first. Try a search on cobra intake there are a ton of threads this subject.

Hi Gilby,

You want to get B cobra heads for you B head Cobra intake when your Mark engine has B heads already....

i guess im going for the look i want it to look like my cobra when i open the hood and fool someone that doesnt know what it is but eventually it is going to have the fate of being pulled out and put into a kit that i build when i get the time sorry about no pics i have abunch of the cobra but up here in ohio its crappy outside and i havent got a chance to really clean up the other 2 cars
here is a link of the pics of the cobra: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2106928&l=cff25&id=39104033

there are also vids on youtube but at work i cant get to them to post links but if you serch cobra peeling out and look under user of jkgilbert9 those are my vids thanks guys

nice cobra, needs to be lowered a bit imho. My friend bought a 96 with a shawn hyland motor puts down 530 to the wheels.

:Beer thanks for posting my vids i cant get to any streaming media at work it is lowered all the way around about an inch and a half you can tell a difference when its sitting by my brothers 95 cobra i plan on having fun with the Mark VIII it will probably get me in more trouble than my cobra because most know to stay away from that and i love seeing ricers faces when a stinkin lincoln passes em by :Beer

lol hey i am not saying its a huge difference but they are different. I dont have cobra cams I dont think the swap is worth it, atleast not at this point in my life.

Different doesnt mean better, the mark 8 cams are optimized for the car they are run in.. as are the cobra cams.

The differences in cam timing are there due to the different vehicles..

Cobra = lightweight stick shift car with a narrow ratio trans
Mark 8 = heavyweight automatic car with a wide ratio trans

Hence the differences in intakes and cams.

The winstar mini van uses a different cam and intake too!

the untimate fate of this car is to be put into a kit car that weighs 2000 lbs and has a T-56 behind it after i am done with school and start making some real money unless i find a wrecked cobra before hand and just steal that motor then ill keep the mark around
