On my Cobra we put Bassani high flow cats with a X-pipe and a Borla cat back (no headers). Sounds and works great. These engines really seem to like the X-pipe.
X = more hp
H = more tq
I tried both on my 2v. The sound of the X is more like a european V8 and pulls harder up top. The sound of an H is more like a 70's muscle car and pulls harder down low. Both times I had no cats. I've also tried the X with cats.
Jamie regardless of what you tell me, I bet you any money your car with no cats would run FLAWLESSLY and would be much faster. My problem is the hollowed cats cause a turbulent flow. The guy that did them was supposed to put straight pipes on...he comes back and tells me he gutted the cats. I was SO pissed because I knew that wasn't going to be good for flow. My loss.
You already have a good setup with a deleted emissions system, deleting the cats would be beneficial for you.
