I'm quickly becoming addicted to these cars!

The more I drive it, tinker with it, look at it, spend time here soaking up everything I can (lots lately!)... the "worse" my addiction gets. :D

In my noobie-ness, I was under the impression the "LSC" was only on 2nd Gen cars, and meant that instead of chrome, the grill and most trim was body-colored, plus probably some other differences I haven't picked up on yet.

Well, reading my owners manual this morning I noticed something that I'd not seen before... my o-fficial Warranty Authorization Card says:

"1994 MARK VIII LSC 2-DOOR"

Could somebody 'splain to me how that could be, and maybe a quick list of major differences between Base and LSC?... TIA

um, my card for my 95 MK Viii dose not say LSC on the title or the warranty card.

you may have a LSC, and you might not. all im saying is that my card and title dont have LSC on it.

i how ever think its very unlikely that you have a 94 LSC, go out side and look at your seats.. is the leather perforated? also do you have true duels all the way back? if it is, could be an amazing find, might have bin a special order?!?! or maybe a prototype?!?!

+1... Neither of my 93's say anything about LSC. You could have a rare find. You never know.

Now, to answer part of your question? Yes, one year of the Gen 1 was available as LSC & it's the 96.

My 94 was called an LSC too but was not a true LSC. LSC's didn't start production until mid to late 95 and 96.

If you are that obsessed with the car, you can convert it over to an LSC. Front and rear bumper covers off a true LSC and the moldings and you then pretty much have an LSC. Side moldings from Gen 2's work perfectly also.

LSC = Luxury Sport Coupe

yes, before the actual LSC model arrived some/all titles/cards said LSC, more as a generic designation.

My dads 2 93's say LSC, and until i go outside and look,i am not even sure what my 95 says,i never paid attention to it because i know its not an LSC.

Peps is right. The actual LSC package was a late 95 addition, that lasted through 98.

The package included monochromatic paint scheme, perforated leather seats, dual exhaust, lsc badging, 3:27 gears, and overall awesomeness.

My first car was a base model 95, but it said LSC on the title and the warranty card.

Most 96's also say Diamond Anniversary on the title, without being the diamond anniversary edition. However there was a Diamond anniversary package for 96, but only came in 2 color combo packages, and it was pretty rare.

Think I remember reading somewhere (probably here) that it also has about 10 more HP, a slightly more aggressive gear ratio, and a firmer suspension.

according to the lincoln vin code all lscs were denoted in the vin with a 92 base models were 91

All 93 and 94 were considered and called an LSC Luxury Sport Coupe ... but in mid 95 Lincoln came out with the actual LSC which was an additional package ... Different Seat, HID Headlights, True Dual exhaust maybe a few other trinkets ...

Also many Mark VIIIs have LSC listed in their title or something like that which caused many to think that they had the LSC package or used car dealers or eBay sellers tried to sell 95 and up base models as LSC Mark VIIIs when they didn't have the LSC package.

So don't be discouraged that your 94 doesn't have the LSC package ... it still is a Luxury Sport Coupe.

Gears are 3.27 vs the base 3.08 I believe ... don't know of any different suspension ...

Bummer for the LSC is the 93 and 94 have better PCM tunes which made them faster stock Mark VIIIs. So the added big 10 hp gain ... Well it's 10 hps .. LOL ..

OK, I'm clear on this now... so,

A) All Mark VIII's are considered to be a Luxury Sports Coupe. I completely agree with this description. It feels to me like they sat a guy down in an easy chair, in the middle of a big warehouse-type building... a really knowledgeable, picky, sports car-type fella... and built his idea of the perfect car around him! :D

B) The LSC "package" option was offered starting around '96.

Gotcha, thanks...
