finally tested out the preformance difference between the two cars. My 97 has a SCT but my 93 has an exhaust, 255 fuel pump and LMS wires.(I don't know how much that helps.
The first race was from a red light. Had a great launch on both cars. They were neck to neck till 35 MPH when my 93 started to pull hard. It got 1.5 car length on the 97 till I shut down at 65 mph.

The second race was from a roll, 50 mph-100 mph. I know 50 mph isn't good spot for the Mark VIIIs but since they are both mark VIIIs, it doesn't matter. Plus traffic was behind us. well, at the third honk, we both guned it. I guess my 97 had a better respones because my brother said his 93 didn't responses very well. I guess the SCT helped there. I gained 1/4 car length on him but he then started to pull hard till 100 mph we he has 2 car lengths on me.

I will try to get a video next time but all in all, it was fun. I thought my 93 would run all over my 97, it held up there.

:shifty: Let me get this straight: you raced your 93 against your 97? YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF!! Why your practicing "polylincolnism"
And it should not be tolerated on this forum! This is a forum full of high moral lincoln owners,That would never think about "selfcompetitoration":shifty: :shifty: :shifty::D

Did we expect any different? :P Hehe. I still love the stock exhaust note of a Gen II over a gen I though.

Gen I Rules!!!

+2! :D

Even though I think the Gen1's are much sexier looking I would still rather have a Gen 2 than any other car!

GEN1 = 1st choice! GEN2 = 2nd choice! GM product = Last place!!!

Hot damn that 93's got a lot to give. You can get more if you add the chip. I was going to get it after I got the nology wires, but I didn't get the chance. You get that chip, and the 97 with never touch the 93 :D

I wish I could have gotten a Gen 2 over the Gen 1. I like my Gen 2 don't get me wrong but I think the Gen 2 is a lot sexier.

Say what you will, but in a blind study conducted by a deaf non-scientic group of surveyors who make surveys (and they are good at geography too) it has been found that the Gen II is for girls.

In the study people where asked to compare two photos. One of a 93 Mark VIII and one of a 97 Mark VIII. They were then asked a series of questions including "If a gender had to be applied, which gender would be applied to each photo?". In all cases the 93 was labeled as "male, macho, masculine and what Richard Simmons is not". The 97 carried the label of "sissy, girly, weak and 'what time of the month is it?'". It was also found that the men in the study preferred the 93 where as the women preferred men who drove a 93.

Well, I rest my case :P

Hmmmm still think the Gen 2 is a sexier car then the first. :D

'94 vs '98LSC

My '94 (stock) pulls harder than both of the '98LSC's I've bought this year. I don't know, maybe the '98's needed the ignition coils replaced or something because my red '98 runs better now that I've changed the ignition coil that I broke while changing the spark plugs. Now regarding which one represents better, well, I liked my JADE '94 model over my SILVER '98LSC but this Toreador RED '98LSC I have now has gotten way more attention than my JADE '94 model ever has. I miss my silver one too, though.:runaway:

I am rather surprised when I see a woman driving a Gen 1 Mark as opposed to the other way around. It's definitely not a girly kinda' car. Though when I see a really beefy Mark VII, with the 5.0, I tend till feel a little less than manish when next to it. They are the epitome of a true " Guy Car " Saddled side to side though, the generation II's are really too curvacious and more defined for women than they are for men. I still want one, though. Preferably in a deep redish maroon, silver or black.

I have a pearlescent white 1st Gen, 1994. It can look a little girlish in that flavor. Vannilla Nice.
