93 Mark VIII Progress Thread

cold you list the part #'s for the blue led cluster lights and dash lights please. Car looks amazing man congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Most of the interior lights are 194(t10) including the lights in the gauge cluster. I got white but if you want blue go for blue lights. Here is what I bought:
http://www.amazon.com/Zone-Tech-5-s...F8&qid=1390448845&sr=8-1&keywords=194+led+20x

The lights in the information center(center of dash) and light behind the light control panel are t5. These are the ones I bought:

Lights in the eatc and other various parts were t4 neo wedge. I got these:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/151172403012?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

However you will need to pull the leds out of those housings and insert them into the factory housing for the t4 neo wedge. It's not hard and just requires tweezers.

Quick video of all the recent light stuff done to it. The next thing to tackle will be the mirror control switch.

Also, the puddle lamps aren't the same t10 5smd bulbs I used in the interior anymore. I replaced them out for these:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-pcs-7-5W-...Parts_Accessories&hash=item27ddd351a9&vxp=mtr

Keep in mind though to use these you will need to strip out some of the socket from the puddle lamps to make them fit since they are quite large. But if you don't want to go through that these are almost as bright and no need to modify:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hot-Car-7-5...Parts_Accessories&hash=item19e6cf2c42&vxp=mtr

Both will be just as bright as the factory 912 halogen bulb or even brighter.

I was thinking of looking into some 9 or 13 SMD bulbs for my puddle lamps. I threw some 5 SMD's in (and they aren't bad - and I had them) but just want it a notch brighter (but, I don't think I want to light up the world either)

Led tail light project... this was something i've wanted to do for a while. I wanted to do only the middle strip as the parking but it looked very awkward driving around. It looked like a reflector. So the parking and braking will be like it's in the pictures. The turning I'm deciding whether i want the respective side of the tail light to also turn with it or just the side housing like it is now. I know the right housing is awkwardly brighter than the bar and the left light. Will have to do something about that.

Right now I have factory air springs up front and air springs and koni shocks in the rear... it's not firm enough so I'm trying something very new. Those aren't mn12 thunderbird springs....

Any chance you could do a write up on how you wired in the mirrors? and light in it?

I can but I wanted to get the mirrors working with the gen 2 module before I went and did that. But as far as now I wired the puddle lamps to the courtesy light and the turn signals to the gauge cluster turn signals.

Oh WOW! I love the LEDs on the rear light bar...I've always thought of doing something like that. Please do a little write up of that with pics and show how you accomplished that with what type of LEDs and where you placed them. Awesome job man!

Just a little update I was able to wire up a gen 2 mirror module switch in a gen 1.

I did not show how to wire up the lock/unlock and window switches as they are straight forward and all the colors match up. The wires that don't are the red/blue which will attach to the beige/yellow wire... You will not have any unused wires. All the black wires will attach to the one black wire of the new window switch. The black wire from the unlock and lock switch will attach to the green/black wire of the new unlock switch. Honestly if that sounds confusing connect all the ones that do match to each other and whichever are left over reread this and connect them to which I say.

You will require a working mirror switch from a 1998-2002 Lincoln town car with memory seats. You will have the flip the front face plate upside down of the mirror switch so when you install the outer trim it's not opposite since the town car's switch is flipped. There are ways to test the switch but it's kinda confusing which if needed I can make a video of and how to flip the face plate.

Lastly, this will give you the basics on how to install the wiring but how you clean up some of the mess and organize is up to you. I personally have aftermarket speakers so how i set it up would be slightly different but a tip would be completely remove the tape around the old wires and remove which wires don't need to be there. I completely removed the rear big connector that uses like 20 wires and made me own with a ford connector since you really only need to connect 4 extra wires if you follow my way. If any questions just ask but here ya go.

I would if i could find high quality led strips and spare housing that separate.

you have any pictures of how you went about putting the LED strips in the rear light bar? Would like to see where you placed them and how you wired it..

Once you remove the red lens there is a clear lens that I glued on the strips to like in this picture. It was then just put back in like it was removed since there was enough of a gap to fit the strips. I will try to find more pictures. You just have to solder the negative and positive anyway you see fit, i don't have pictures of how i did the wiring at the moment.
