ABS light came on this week upon startup. The light has stayed on and I have no ABS or traction control. I have a complete donor system available (also a 93, everything same same). Could any of the vets out there help me out with what to do and how to go about it?
I love these cars (God help me), no other I would rather have ( OK maybe a 928S but I got enough trouble)!
Thanks

Relays are not behind the fender cover, they are in the fuse block...

I need you to reset your system, and give me your flash code

disconnect your Neg Batt cable, then touch it to the Pos post for a couple seconds, reconnect Neg cable to Batt... Turn key to ON , watch the ABS lights flash sequence..
(example) flash flash -pause- flash flash flash flash flash (code 25)

once you've done that I'll check the code for you and advise from there

:confused:Car defies all attempts to be scanned or give up "flash codes". The ABS light comes on and stays on as soon as I turn the key. I think it's mocking me! I guess I will start just swapping things out but most of the system looks pretty hard to get to. Any ideas, tips or tricks would be appreciated.
Thanks

No luck in the main fuse box. Now I'm looking for the ABS pump motor relay somewhere near or under the battery. Gonna try to hit this stuff hard this weekend.

Again, under the battery, behind the fender well cover lol. Maybe there is another name I'm looking for besides "relay" but I would say your problem is behind the fender well cover. It could just be corroded at the connection but swapping out the air ride (whatever it's called) with the one for the ABS will let you know if the (whatever it's called) is bad. :D Wait, I think it's called a "module"....... yeah, that's it. Swap those out with the air ride and see what you get.

Ah, go in thru the side marker light assy. Maybe I could try that tomorrow!
Thanks

You don't have to go in that way - you can access via the fender area too. I just happened to have the corner light out anyway, so made for an easy picture. I wouldn't know which way is quicker, but at least now you can see exactly where it is.

Yes, please go blues way. Going through the corner lens hole would only add to your time and not get anything accomplished. Just go ahead and turn off the air ride first, take the negative terminal loose from battery, jack up the front, remove the drivers wheel first and take the inner fender well lining out on the front side. Check the connection for any corrosion. If any is found, clean it off with proper corrosion cleaner (CRC electronics cleaner) and plug it back in after it dries.

If you still get the same thing after that, then take off the passenger side wheel, fender well lining (front side) and get that relay and swap it over to the drivers side and that should verify if it is that part that has went bad. If you decide to turn the air ride back on, put both wheels back on first before turning on the air ride system. If the air ride kicks on, the relay should be good. This issue has been known to just be corrosion build up in the wiring harness. Unlikely but could be the problem.

I just swapped the pump relay with the one for the air ride...still the same (code 17, reference voltage) the relay for the air ride may be bad as well,
not sure because this car has had springs for a few years

Called Lincoln and they can get new ones from Tampa for $180, they also said there is no FoMoCo # meaning it's a dealer item only...guess I'll try the salvage yard for a good one
on my lunch break

thanks NoLimit...I didn't realize that was also a relay, my schematics don't even show it
it's (PN) F3LB-2C013-AA

It's ok, I just thought I'd rename it as a module. :D

Well I haven't swapped the other box in there yet, or the pump itself...I would really like to get the ABS working again
I've swapped the 55 pin ECU and the pump relay, and the ABS relay in the fuse block...

Speaking of the ABS module...is the 93 specific, or will one from a 94/95 work as long as they don't have Trac Control?

I would think the 93, 94, 95 for sure would be the same. 96 should also work too but not positive on the 96.

nobody around my area has the proper adapter or scanner for these things anymore, gonna have to find another Lincoln dealership and have them scan the thing... then steal their adapter and scanner on my way out.
