Having my axle housing rebuilt and 4.10's installed, and I had a quick question...

When reinstalling the side bearings for the housing (needle roller bearings, not carrier) the passenger side has a much deeper area for the bearing to press into, and the drivers side bearing fits perfectly in one spot, no room for movement, and sits snug up against the axle seal...... should the passenger side mimic this even though I have the extra space? Or should I bring the bearing inward as far as I can? Toward the carrier bearing. (Like it was when I removed it)

Probably doesn't matter either way does it?

If you have your old bearings, just copy the part# off of them and go order the identical sizes.

Just match them from side to side.

How's the spreader working out?

Yes.

The Ford/Rotunda tool that's designed for use in pressing in the bearing sets them to the same depth.

that's not the point.jesse, i pressed them in as little as possible. i kept it close to the axle seal.

Perfect. My friend finished it before I got home

Excellently. In fact I am done using it. I will try and get it back to you asap
