Hey peoples. I went to the dealership and asked them what I need to get at 60,000 miles and he had told me injectors, oil & air filter. Fuel Filters, and something about transmission etc... and it all came up to like $586 is this a good price or no? and could you tell me what I need at this mileage.

NEVER ask a dealership what they recommend. Always go by your manual, or ask us. lol.

At 60k? I'd ensure my air filter, cabin filter, and fuel filters are changed, assuming they havent been changed according to the manufacturers recommendation. I'd pull the plugs to check to ensure that the valve cover gaskets havent been leaking. But if you are sure they havent, the plugs are good until about 90k. But if you DO pull the plugs to check, at 60k, why not just go ahead and replace them I guess. If the brake fluid has never been flushed, wont hurt to flush the fluid, even though Ford doesnt require a flush in their manuals. I personally dont do the brake flushes, but I siphon out my brake reservoir once a year, and refill with fresh fluid. I had my transmission flushed at 80k even though its a "lifetime fill". I figure doing it once to keep me going to my planned 150k (at which point I plan to sell) will be worth it. A coolant flush might be a good idea as well, but cant say its 100% necessary at 60k.

thanks for the info so what are the main things i should get done you know the for sure things

if the one your dealer has is anything like the dealer here... it included:
brake and powersteering flush/fill
plugs
ALL FILTERS
Trans flush/fill
oil change
tire rotation

now, it's not a bad price if you need all of that done... and don't want to do it yourself.

If you want to make it run good for a long time and if you plan on keeping it for 120k-150k or more. Do the trans. fluid, the rear diff fluid (full syn.), run full syn engine oil, fuel filter, and as far as "the injectors" get a fuel system cleaning which involve cleaning the injectors, combustion chamber, and throtle body. Now as for lse guy, I agree, dont ever ask the dealer and use them as little as possible. I worked at a quick lube shop, I can say that if you find a place you can trust the people to work on your car, you will save alot of money to go to a quick lube. Just know what you want before you go. I know of the things you see on tv about these places. The stuff needs done, but just when your ready to do it, financally. The trans you may have to go to the dealer but ask them if they drop the pan and change fluid or if they do the full fluid exchange. you want the to do fluid exchange because the pan only holds 40% of the fluid the rest is in the cooler and tourqe converter. the trans filter wont need changed till 100k-150k. I know that the book say different for this stuff but its called preventative maintinance. you change your oil every 3,000k for a reason, it breaks down from usage and heat. Linclon dont make miracle fluid, its all the same as what they put in their ford focuses, mustangs, and the trucks.

The place to start is the Service manual that came with your car. It should outline the items that need attention at 60K miles. Now, the dealer may add a few additional items, based on your particular geographic area. For example, my dealer swaps wiper blades at certain miles just because of the climate here in the Northeast. Mind you, some items are included more for profit than anything else, so ask questions beforehand.

For comparision, I just had the 30K service done on my 06 car. Total cost was $460, which included $300 in labor, $120 in parts, and $40 everything else (tax, disposal fees, etc.). The menu of service items included all filters (oil, air, fuel, cabin), oil change, tire rotation and balance, inspections/adjustments, etc.

I had a belt that squeaked like a stuck pig when I started my car; replacing one of the belts cured that problem (done under warranty). The steering wheel was also vibrating at certain speeds. Tire rotation and balance fixed that. My car is now running like new, and feels nice and tight. For me, the cost was worth every penny.
