I need an answer from someone that knows. I can get a 4r70w that came out of a 2004 Mustang with a V-6. I have had the man match up the bolt patterns with a Mark 4r70w and everything is the same. Is there any reason the electrical internals couldn't be swapped out from a 95 4r70w into the 2004 4r70? Seems like it would be the same as what I done on the 94 when I swapped over to the 98 trans and swapped out electricals. It was easy to do and this 2004 trans is only $200 with 60K. For an extra $30, I could buy the front and rear seals and the valve body gaskets from Maxx and J-Mod it. The 94 suffered major heat up under that car when the fire was going and they are telling me the bell housing was a little bit warped.

I kinda believe this because one octi on the front drivers side also had a flat spot from the intense heat.

someone correct me if i am wrong but
it will NOT bolt up the v6 is a Windsor bolt pattern not the 4.6 pattern.
for the bell housing to motor that is

I'm thinking you're right. I have not seen this trans, I'm only going by what the guy is saying. He said he had a Mark VIII trans that he could put head to head and see if the pattern matched and he says it does but I haven't seen this. It's not a big deal if I can't get it and he is only 30 min from me but the trans he is selling is in storage. I just thought that $200 was a good deal but I was hesitant when he said it was from a 2004 V-6 Mustang. It's hard for me to believe that the pattern could be the same.

I think I remember seeing somewhere that there's 1 or 2 less clutch plates in the v6 version vs the v8 version. I could be wrong though.

Hey Terry I told you I have a 97 Transmission with 79k on it right now for $200! If you want you can get it tomorrow. I said $200 before but if you give me a good deal on that fan and radiator you can get it for $150! I got a guy from here going to give me a fan and radiator for $40 plus $30 shipping. But I really need it before then.

The 93 - 97 transmissions are the ones I'm trying to stay away from. If yours has the tag on it that shows it has been upgraded, I'll get yours. $125 and a fan and radiator. I think it should have a yellow tag that shows it is indeed the upgraded trans.

Is your car ready to get on the road except you just need a fan and radiator?

I will look and see if it has a yellow tag on it anywhere. I also have a tranny that was rebuilt and has 15k on it. I was going to use that one and just sell the original one out of the car. I will have to swap the electronic plugs over to the rebuilt one because it is not out of a Mark Viii! If you are interested I would keep the original one and sell you the rebuilt one for that price. I will go and see if it has the tag on it too. It is a 1993 tranny but it is freshly rebuilt. Yes my car is almost ready to go. I have to put in the tranny but I am waiting to figure out my exhaust manifold situation. The last thing holding me up as far as parts is the radiator and fan though, so let me know what you want to do!
Thanks,
Daniel
