this picture was 639 lbs of mark VIII delight!! any metal part you could think of, from cruise control servo's, to window regulators, to intakes and fenders, rear lower control arms to timing covers and heads, all to the scrap yard, there was 19 passenger side seat tracks in the pile!!! got $450 for 2 mark VIII shells and $427 bucks in 3 pick up truck loads of scrap, thats more than selling the parts off the whole car! my shop looks like a ghost town, only parts left are bumper covers, those will be thrown away this week after waste services empties the dumpsters. god this feels good, like i am finally breaking up with a bad girlfriend!! i havent smiled this much in years!!! it was so fun throwing all this crap off of my loft, 13 foot drop to the floor!! i scrapped 11 gen 2 hoods i meant to keep one for myself but i couldnt help myself!!

lol?? where have you been? god damn right i am, and it feels marvelous to know it. my father in law is holding onto the stuff in our garage to try and sell here and there until its gone, but as far as me, moving out of my shop next weekend and i am D.O.N.E forever. no more jamie the parts guy i have given up 12 years of my life for this crap and did it mostly for my father in law but its not about others anymore, its about me and i want to be with my wife and kids alot more and continue to work my 40 hours a week like normal people do and screw this hobby crap. this has been a long time coming.

Jamie if ya got a good front license plate mount on one of those front bumper covers, I could sure use it. Mine's been bumped into something and cracked and looks like chit.
I'd just take it off, but ya gotta have a front plate in Montana.

ah, k thought I'd try. Got a Gen 1.

Now that your shop's all cleared out, ya might get inspired to start building that badass sand rail ya mentioned. ;)

i didnt just clear it out, i am moving out lol, i cant pull off building a sand rail in my driveway. no more shop as well as no more parts, i'm giving up the entire deal.

Seconded. You've helped out so many folks on this list, but there comes a time when ya gotta ditch it all and take time for YOU. Enjoy it man! :)

Still gonna be pickin yer brains for your Mark VIII wisdom and experience tho

You mean you didn't just GIVE all the metal away to have the yard mowed...how odd!

Is this LVC or a episode of hoarders??? Lol

It would have been nice to find a home for some of that stuff but at what point is enough...enough, but this hobby is not suppose to be another job and I'm assuming this is how it was feeling and I can see why you wanted out man...congrats

If you dont STFU about that BS then you can come get your last POS first gen before I give it to some mexicans for tamales.

Please tell me your still refurbing headlights ?!

i think its you that bought a set off me right, if so, yours are the last ones, or whoever paid me ( without looking at paypal ) are the last set. i am not doing anything with them anymore except a few local customers who have always been real good to me i will still keep up on helping them out right out of my garage but otherwise i'm done, that was the whole idea behind this was to get out of it for good. i'm burnt out it doesnt interest me anymore, lots of people get burnt out of things they do for a long time. i got a promotion at work, a nice raise, and right now i can have all the overtime i want so there is no reason to continue doing something that doesnt make money for one, and for two i'm tired of it thats all. so i am gonna work more at my normal job and continue the journey of purchasing my house, thats my goal right now not these cars!

I thought about PM'ing or emailing you, but this is as good of a place as any to just say Thank You! You and your family have given so much to the Mark VIII community over the years. In addition to selling parts, you have given tons of free advice, answered questions and put up with loads of BS.

You've been more than fair with me in our business dealings. I've always felt like you were giving me a great deal, whether it was the car, rims, headlights or parts. It was great to get to meet you in person when I bought the 93.

As a father, I fully understand your desire to spend your time with your wife and kids. They grow up and move on with their lives awfully fast. Pretty ironic that you're getting out of the business on Father's Day weekend!

I wish you nothing but the best. Thank you again for all you've done to help all of us keep our Mark VIII's on the road.

Happy Trails!

I understand you just wanting out of it, and that it's a big weight of you're shoulders, i couldn't imagine. So good for you.

But it's still sad to see those parts go. If i lived down there I would've been like a kid in a candy store.

I hope you kept a few spare parts for yourself. You are doing right by yourself and family that's all that matters! Now go enjoy sandkey one day for me!

does your father in law have any gen 2 rear quarters? ... and like everyone else said good job bro do what ever makes you happy.

Screw this hobby crap might work for a little bit. But a Man gets bored very fast and will need something good or bad to do. Some get bad and mess up their life and some become creative and better.
I am sure you will find a hobby soon that will bring you more joy than ever before! Good luck!

thanks ron i really appreciate that. it is ironic in a way, but this was planned actually last month we decided to end it, only reason i stretched it out was so i didnt have to rush to get the stuff out of the shop so i paid up june's rent to buy a little time.

I hope you kept a few spare parts for yourself. You are doing right by yourself and family that's all that matters! Now go enjoy sandkey one day for me!
i kept a few things like a set of mint fenders, a header panel, i still have all the parts that are in my garage like everything you find inside a mark VIII, i have some stuff. its funny you mention sand key, thats where me and my wife got married, right on the beach!

i swear sometimes i want to slap people, where the :q:q:q:q were you 2 weeks ago when i started the post about closing down, i had two 97's that i posted up and even said if someone wanted to take a shell they had mint quarters on them, thats ok though i realize some people sleep, alot, so if you want to see if the quarters are still good go to teddy bears auto salvage, i highly doubt they survived the crusher though.

and thank you to all the people who ever bought stuff off us in the past who didnt dick us around. we have sold a heap load of parts all over the world, hell the drivetrain out of my white 97 lsc in sitting in a 56 t-bird in finland right now how cool is that! we have met alot of people over the years, made alot of friends and i even managed to make a good handful of loyal customers so i appreciate all of it. it wasnt always easy, you do have to deal with morons too and its funny even after getting rid of all this stuff and calling it quits, the morons still haunt me i cant seem to shake them loose, there are a couple left, time to change my email and phone number i guess lol! i will still be around here, obviously i have 2 marks i'm not out of the car, just out of the shop aspect, but it will be much less than ever before, i have alot of stuff around my house i want to work on and catch up with so free time here i come!!
