No one is advocating being impaired on the job no if and or butts. The thing is you want to throw the baby out with the bath water. I was not saying your son was not intelligent , I was stating he is. And still is because cannabis does no damage to the mind. Actually some of the smartest and richest people on earth have consumed cannabis.

Actually it does. It kills memory cells. Not saying alcohol doesn't kill brain cells, it does. I did the rebellious thing years ago and got drunk twice. Besides being one of the stupidest things I have ever done I hated the feeling of being out of control.

How about you post some PROOF of your CLAIM. Because that's all it is your claim. So actually it DOESN'T. Yes alcohol takes your control away cannabis does not.
 
Marijuana does NOT HAVE ANY LONG-TERM OR PERMANENT SIDE EFFECTS WHATSOEVER.

IT DOES NOT KILL BRAIN CELLS...ALCOHOL DOES.

It only diminishes your memory when you are under the influence of the drug, just as any drug does.

"Potheads" are people who are constantly high, therefore, they don't seem very intelligent because they are continually impaired.

The monkey study is where everyone gets the idea that smoking pot kills brain cells. What the monkey testers did was they didn't get the bad results they wanted. So they made them, they put sealed gas mask on the monkey and pumped in only cannabis smoke and NO OXYGEN. Hey look we have brain damage now. No OXYGEN you die.

Correct, which is why i listed both, and cited both studies.
 
Alcohol and mj on the job would be treated the same. If I went to work high or drunk and my supervisor detects it, I'm automatically fired and I don't even have a job that an impairment on my part would cause harm to others. You don't hear about air traffic controllers getting fired much but you do occasionally hear about airline pilots getting escorted off planes for attempting to fly drunk. Critical jobs where someone might get hurt by a high person will cost these people their jobs when caught.

Incidentally, I might add that my son was also a lazy slacker that had a dead end job and only wanted to play video games, but he hardly even drinks alcohol, much less smoke dope. And, he's highly intelligent too. Of course, after I threw him out of the house for being a lazy slacker and made him make it on his own for a while on minimum wage, he finally got it through his head that min wage and video games wasn't a viable way to live. He's now in the Air Force, in a job field that will pay at least 100K/year and can't be outsourced because it's high tech security stuff that foreigners can't be trusted with. At least, he'll be in training for it once his security clearance comes in.
