caught this clip today and wanted to share. its apparently powered by a twin turbo v6 @ 600hp im not sure why they didnt want to go v8 or turbo v8 what do you think?

Why not? The new 2.3L 4 cylinder ecoboost equals the V8 the Mark came with and the 6 cylinder ecoboost far surpasses it.

There is a point (especially in pro racing) where weight distribution and overall power (when it comes on and for how long it holds on) is desired versus pure brutality. Take the Viper for example. The racing Viper is 200hp LESS than the street car yet is faster and better balanced.

Those two reasons are likely why Ford chose the V6 versus the V8.
