2008 Camaro video

Nery nice car,, not into the front,, but the shape, color, and wheels,, and that rummblin engine,, sweet.

but its still a chevy,,lol

Looks like they were doing some test video to see how the car looks on film. Yeah, it's going slow... but when you're driving a one-off million dollar car, I'm sure they're not going to be blowing donuts in the high school parking lot with it until they build some test mules. When Ford built the first three GT's, they were limited to 35 mph before the cars release, just for that reason.

Prior to the LS i have always been an f-body guy. I still feel like taking my size 15 and putting it up my ass for getting rid of my '91 GTA. One of like 400 made and nowadays you cant find them. Anywhere. Mine was in perfect condition. I think that '91/'92 model was the sleekest looking Trans Am in the 25+ years it was made. Still today on autotrader.com there are only 39 for sale across the entire U.S. Mine was red/burgandy.

"General Motors, GM Chairman and CEO Rick Wagoner stands with the award-winning Camaro concept while announcing that GM will build an all-new production version of the Chevrolet Camaro Thursday, Aug. 10, 2006 in Traverse City, Mich. The sport coupe will be nearly identical to the Camaro concept that was introduced at the North American International Auto Show earlier this year. Production will begin at the end of 2008 and the Camaro will go on sale in the first quarter of 2009."

That picture must have been taken at a wierd angle, otherwise that is the lowest car i have ever seen.

The biggest problem with the new Camaro will be the sales expectations. GM has been quoted as stating they need to sell 100k per year to make money. That said...the new Buttstain only sold 160k V6 and GT models. So...why GM thinks they can come in and grab that much of the market is beyond me. I'm completly a GM guy and if the Caddy CTS-V was offered in an auto...we'd have that instead of the LSE.

If on the off chance they build a new Camaro...I'll probably buy one to put along side my 99SS. I only hope they offer up stripper models for those of us that think creature comforts are for crusiers. I would like it if they offered A/C delete as an option. Nine out of ten times, the tops are out of my car anyway (last 6 months it's been in the garage with them out) and the A/C isn't on.

I think the key for performance enthusiasts would be to go after the GT500 with N/A. In fact, if they could offer the LS7 as an option on the new Camaro, the GT500 would be toast. Bring on whatever pulley or bolt-on you want.

Ehh...all of that is my $.02. I've always been a GM guy and always will be. However, as I mentioned...GM didn't offer a performance in an auto (wife's choice).

There is no way a Camaro with an LS7 would be able to compete against a pullied GT500. The GT500 will be making 600rwhp with bolt ons and the LS7 will be topped out at 500rwhp with bolt ons... not even close.

I suppose I should have clarified...making the power reliably.

Ok...I'll give you the fact that it might make 600rwhp however, call me when you need a ride from windowing the block. The Ford motor isn't a Supra or GN motor. I don't forsee any longevity when making that sort of boosted power. Funny how the Cobra made a crazy amount of power AFTER GM killed the Camaro. Was Ford secretly going after the Z06?

In all seriousness...are there really 600 rwhp pullied bolt on GT500's running around? If so...I can't wait to see one with my lowly 337 rwhp Camaro. I hope from redlight to redlight I get waxed. If not...I'll be forced to laugh at the driver.

Just read...production is a go. First quarter 2009.

V6 and V8
IRS...dunno if I agree with that...but...it will def. help with the twisties.

That has to be THE dumbest video I have ever seen. were they afraid to get on it? or maybe it might break?? :shifty: or is the top speed only 15MPH????

Feh. It's a Camaro. What the hell does it have to do with the LS? :yuck:
