2002 LS keyless remote programing?

That's correct. The 00-02 LS's require the use of the NGS tester to reprogram the keys and keypad. More than likely a dealer only piece of equipment. I have heard that some local automotive repair shops may have the tester but I can't confirm that. The 03+ LS's do not require this tool to program the keypad.

Thanks Ken.... I've passed the word on to my LS buddy.. (I wish this guy would just join the site instead of having me do all his asking of question - especially after he boogers his LS with something stupid before I get an answer from one of you guys).

Also, have him take ALL his remotes with him. My dealer said they have to wipe the remotes out completely and add them all back.

Even if this isn't true, if my dealer *thought* he had to do this to get it to work, his may as well.

The Owner's Guide says that you have to have all of the remotes when you program them or have them programmed.

Many independants do have them Ken. I had one at one time and sold it. Now I'm looking for another with CAN. And I'm not sure that there might not be some aftermarket ones that can do that. But that I don't know for sure.
