I have a blue driver OBD so hopefully i can check the same things as your Forescan reader does

Went to change the fuel filter didn’t know I need a special tool for the one end until I tore it apart

No special tool is needed that I know of. You push the 2 opaque clips in on each end... and it releases the hoses on both ends.

it has one of those on the one side of course the other side has no clips their internal. Need a special tool that’s cheap at least to remove it really sucks why they just wouldn’t have 2 clips

I know I wish I could know for sure instead of just changing it out I cleaned it it seemed to run good then starts acting up again

I have not read this entire post but my similar issue turned out to be a fuel injector.
