Is the antenna in the 2001 powered by a 12V accessory? If so, what wire in the factory harness do I need to apply the 12v to?

I installed a Kenwood KDC-X397 head unit a couple months back and have been super happy with my install, except for my poor radio reception. Since then I recently had to get a new motor installed so the radio has taken the back burner, now that its running again I would like to take a look at the issue. My local audio shop said that its probably because I didn't wire power to the antenna (He owned a 1st gen LS back in the day), I have also considered installing a new Hidden Antenna and putting it in the passenger A pillar. Thanks.

Your antenna amp is still powered, unless you cut any wires in the rear pillars or above the headliner. There are no connections at the radio that control power to the amp. Did you see any of these posts?

(No need to search, they were all in the first three pages of the forum.)

there is no "power antenna" wire that needs to get powered up like a lot of cars do...

I actually did read through all those posts ahead of time. I looked around that problem spot in the headliner and didn't see any of the usual suspects. The poor reception started right after I changed my head unit so I doubt the timing is a coincidence. I will take apart my head unit soon and see whats going on back there. (maybe could be a loose connection) Thanks for the quick help! :)
