I have a 2000 Lincoln Ls 3.9 V8.
I drove my car on the highway about 20-25 miles and my car overheated and leaked all my coolant.
I drove it home and it overheated again.
I have not touched the car since then.
I turned the car on yesterday and did not drive it and after 10 min. I turned it off and it had leaked a little coolant.

Whats my problem? I dont really know much about the car. Can someone help me? I dont even know where to start.

Please search. It's common for nearly all the plastic cooling system parts to crack and fail.

1. Welcome to LVC

2. More than likely one of your cooling plastics has got a crack. They get stress cracks from wear and age. The thing is you need to change all of your coolant plastics because they all fail at the same interval. If one is failing, the rest will soon.

I have recently performed this procedure, and if you need help or have questions I can help you with some things. However your LS is a 1st gen and mine is a 2nd gen, so they are a little different. Regardless, plan on replacing all of your cooling components, including your degas tank. I did this myself for about $420 in parts. But you'll have to get your hands dirty.

hey i have a 2000 lincoln LS and i had similar issues. everytime i would be stuck in a drive thru or heavy traffic it would overheat and i would have the coolant leak out. it drove me nuts. i replaced the coolant cap, the thermostat, i bled it a couple of times still overheated. my problem was simple. it was the metal clamp that clamps the hose to the radiator fitting. its a fixed clamp not the screw type. the clamp somehow over time had broke but still appeared to be on the hose. whenever the car would get hot and the coolant would flow the hose would swell up. when it swelled up it allowed the coolant to leak out past the fitting. check that first before getting into all the other things.
