So Im selling my other LS this weekend. It has around, or below, 1/4 tank of 2-3 year old gas in it. Whats my best bet for getting it out? The car will start and run off of it, just not very well. Id prefer not to remove the tank or drain it, but didn't know if adding fresh gas to it was a good idea either, or if there's a additive I could get to help as I (hopefully can) flush this tank through...

your thoughts?

adding more fresh gas should be sufficient.
premium mixed 3 to 1 like that should make it fine.

+1 Mix it with a full tank of fresh gas and it will be diluted. You'll be fine.

I put a car into storage in 2009 with a full tank of gas. Kept telling myself I would drain it.

Never did. Still sitting there to this day.

LS gurus: do these cars have a fuel pump circuit that you can jumper it with a wire to battery to run fuel out like gms do?
Wire, schrader valve removal tool and a few feet of hose is all you need.

The positive supply to the pump is switched on and off via a relay (controlled by the REM). The ground to the pump is electronically controlled via the REM as it regulates fuel pressure this way. You would have to unplug the fuel pump connector and jumper some wires to the battery and ground.

Why remove the Schrader valve (not every LS has one, BTW)? Instead just disconnect the fuel line to the fuel rail, or even better, the one going into the fuel filter.

Done that before with other cars. Worked great.

Thanks guys... actually just drove it, ran pretty well on just the old gas. Should be fine with the mix!

Add handful of mothballs or one to two ounces of Acetone.

I'd suggest adding a quart of Marvel Mystery Oil along with topping the tank off with fresh gasoline. I have used MMO in my fuel on a regular basis for years, as has my father (who has used it a great many more years) with positive results and no problems.

I'll look into that...thanks!!
