Bought an 06 in Decmeber after having an 02, both V8 sports. I noticed that the 06 has much more of a bouncy ride, not stiffer, but more travel maybe after large bumps.
Also, this is the more important thing, at 45+ mph if I hit uneven pavement or and slightly turning in a curve and hit bumps or uneven pavement then it feels like my rear end sort of jerks or fishtails for a second?! 53000 miles original tires could this be the culprit? Or is the rear end really squirrly over bumps on all second gens? My 02 did not do this. I need to know any info on this because I am putting eibach springs this summer and if I need to do anythingelse while I am in there then I want to do it (i.e. shocks struts)
Please help!

Thanks for the info.
Would they really go bad after 53000 miles? Is there some kind of test to see if they are bad?

That's almost definitely the shocks. They could go bad that quickly depending on what the previous owner did.

Thanks for the info.

Push down on the rear end. If it's very bouncy, your test is complete! With old cars this test was often performed by standing on the bumper and jumping up and down.

By pushing down on the rear end what do you mean? If it squishes down a bunch? Or if I push it up and down till it gets momentum and then see if it keeps going or regains composure?

There is definitley a ton more movement in the rear when I push up and down compared to the front. I can barely get the front to move a couple inches the back probably 3-4 times as much travel!
How can someone ruin shocks in 50000 miles? Seriously!

perhaps he had a large stereo system in the back. Once you start getting to big boy systems, the rear can get mighty heavyyyy

My 02 was lowered and believe me that is a must. This summer for sure-
now if I can only find the wheels I want...
All of this of course after rear shocks. Thanks everyone for the input!
