Just finished a mock up of my own cold air induction. I have to get the air tube chrome plated and the KKM mass air unit polished, but I wanted to see how everything fit first. Heat shield is from a 3.9 K&N filter pak kit.

Hose connections
The larger of the two hoses is for the PCV valve in the right side valve cover. The hard black plastic tube is approximately 5/8 in. outside diameter. I brazed a 5/8 OD tube to the air tube and will replace and save the factory connector hose with a piece of 5/8 ID vacuum hose and 2 clamps.
The smaller nipple is just a straight plug in. The appx. OD is 3/8 in., so it wasn't hard to find tubing of this diameter.

Looks real nice Nick.
If you want an even cleaner look invert your hose clamps and use a small ratchet and socket to tighten them back down while the worm gear bolt is under the tube. It hides them and will give a cleaner appearance.

Thanks for the info...I was going to use some spare T-bolt clamps, solid stainless bands, but didn't have the correct sizes....another order to Summit on Monday.

If you want to save a little money and still have the full solid band (rather than worm slots in it) then buy a much bigger worm drive clamp than you need. It will have a much longer solid strap area before it gets to the worm slots. Make sure the solid part is long enough but not too long where you don't have enough slots to properly tighten it onto your tube. Then measure it on your tube and cut the excess off. Much quicker and cheaper than going to T-bolts. The t-bolts aren't really needed as you are only holding vacuum right now. Just another suggestion that will save you some time and money. It will function as well as look the same as what the t-bolts will get you.

hey Nick, where do you buy the couplers? i don't really like the ones that came with my CAI and want to get better holding ones. the blue rubbery ones just don't seem to hold tight enough and seem to move after a while due to heat and the car movement. thanks in advance

I'll have to get back to you on the idle, haven't fired the LS up for awhile due to the weather. I'm having the exhaust work done in a couple of weeks, but I'll road test it before adding another variable to the equation.

Driveability
Test drove the LS this week. Couldn't be happier with the performance and sound. The last time I drove the car the weather was cold, but at 55 degrees idle is great, no surging and the off the line in 1st has greatly improved in (electronic) throttle response. KKM advertises no air management problems and I have none.
The Magnaflows and 2.25 pipes go on this week end and I will update on drivability when completed.

The tubing is 3 inch aluminized exhaust tubing from an old down pipe project. The pipe had a 35 degree bend and I cut it right at the angle. Two nipples are 5/8 od and 3/8 od scrap tubing. Check E-Bay for mandrel exhaust tubing.

thanks NicksGTR, i got the couplers from the link you gave me and they are a huge improvement to the ones that come with the CAI from LSK. they are RPS silicone hose couplers w/ 3 ply silicone coated Polyester. for 2 it was like 25 bucks, well worth it. thanks again Nick. here's a couple of snaps
